Some keyboards or mobile PCs that don't have the PRINT SCREEN button might use other keyboard combinations, such as FN+INSERT, to take a screen capture. Check the information that came with your computer or the manufacturer's website for more information.

I will google it :/

Where's FN & INSERT??

Back on topic.

I lost £4 on the National yesterday. One of my horses simply stood there, and couldn't even be bothered to start the race, the other refused at the last fence.

Chose the 2 mardiest horses. Boyf joked that maybe this reflects on my personality. Should I deck him?

you have a lot running on your toolbar (by the clock), all that can slow down your computer.

as for when i do a screengrab, i just press 'prt scrn' and chop whatever i want out of it in paint.

I dunno how to get rid of all that :/ ?

Yeahh, I was just testing it at the time ;)

If I was them horses in the Grand National I wouldn't jump any of those fences, they are massive. Every year horses die on that stupid course, 3 of them this year.

3 horses died? OMG! Really? OMGOMGOMG! That's bad :'( :crying: :'(

i don't like it when they put them down :(

what are your feelings on racing in general being a horse owner yourself ?

You'd think that by being dragged to various race meets across the country ever since I was born you'd think I'd be able to actually have a winner, wouldn't you? Alas, I got nothing this year again. I placed a bet on Tricky Trickster - it did finish 9th out of the 14 that finished so that wasn't tooo bad. Pleased for Tony McCoy though :)

Not a huge fan, I've been to see the racing at Uttoxter and once at Aintree but wouldn't watch it regulary. They start riding them too soon really, normally a horse wouldn't be ridden until it was at least 4 but they race them as young as 1 now when they aren't developed properly.

They are treated well at the stables but I think they should wait a while longer before riding them and maybe make Aintree's fences a but smaller too. You're always going to get casualties but at least 3 are at the Grand National festival every year.

My horse came second. I loved that it was first for 29 fences - you can't beat that sort of adrenalin when watching the race! I feel sorry for the one that couldn't be arsed at the start though. It must be so gutting for the jockey and punters.

It's awful seeing them fall over though. But I don't suppose a few people not putting on a punt will make a significant impact to stopping it, so it's something I join in with each year.

Do we have any professional jockeys on this site? :P

I didn't bet or watch it. I've never placed a bet in my life. Maybe I should add it to my list of things to try some time.

that horse was :giggle: the way it just stood there & looked on as the others ran off, punters won't mind as it was a none runner so you would get your money back.

My cousin's friend was jockeying at Aintree this weekend - not entirely sure if it was in the National though. It could have been him, had he not got involved with drugs and lost all interest in jockeying.

I was referring to the Application Limewire which appears in your screen grab.

Not only illegal, but a gateway for viruses to just waltz onto your PC, and hackers to take ANYTHING off it. If I'm repairing someones PC, I remove it as a Viral hazard (and then sneakily replace it with a much safer Peer-2-Peer app which is legal =])

    • There was a time when everyone knew Zane Lowe or Annie Mac or Judge Jules or Dave Pearce or Annie Nightingale. Does the Radio 1 generation know the current bunch?
    • Looks like it's off to Preston!
    • Would be nice to give more presence to the specialist shows over bank holidays. Surely the best way to promote new music credentials over anthems? As much as I accept it's very popular.
    • Peak radio 1 ! I agree with Bluestraw there was huge presence by specialist presenters then , certainly something I think radio1 could do more of now. Remember the takeover where specialist DJs would swap into main shows for a week? Or do we recall In New DJs We Trust, the competition on Chris moyles show where the winner would get a DJ set at radio 1s Ibiza weekend, and that is how Danny Howard’s radio career starters
    • Yeah. He started on R1 in the late 90's when they used do the 'Sessions in the Nations' where they used to split for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. He then moved to daytimes, firstly on weekends in 2003 then they replaced Mark & Lard on the mid afternoon slot in 2004.  Then he moved to late evenings as a specialist DJ.
    • Thanks for sharing that - I don't think I've seen it before. Didn't realise that Colin Murray off of Countdown and R5L used to be on R1! Several other current R2/R5L/R6M names there too.
    • 29th April has updated to show Dan back as presenter but still Nels in for Alyx on Introducing Rock.
    • Where do we think Radio 2 in the Park will be this year? Personally I'm thinking Swindon after Scott's clue of it having many roundabouts and since Big Weekend is at Luton I can't imagine they'd go to Milton Keynes.
    • Yeah, I feel like they need a big push on Jack to cement him in his new position. But it shouldn't just be Jack, you've got Sian and Alyx for instance, who are relatively new faces.
    • Now in it's third week, the new Capital Breakfast Show seems to be settling down well and there are more of the informal, random Jordan topics appearing.  Though it is clear he wants to be seen slightly differently. It really is a very decent listen.
    • Just watched that advert and it made me realise quite how many 'big' specialist presenters there were back then
    • I've been reminded of this Radio 1 cinema advert. I remember being so excited to see it. The In New Music We Trust era. Everything felt so cool, even if they had Westwood.
    • Just Vick and Katie on Wednesday (and presumably Thursday as well).
    • Unless people can provide a source for this information then it should be treated as false.   Why would Jordan sign a contract with the BBC in the autumn when he agreed a deal with Global?  He could have left in August and not had to deal with the BBC.  Vick who doesn't really like Global why would she recommend him to go there and then warn him in her post to be careful?   It's been whispered from October that Roman was thinking of going.  Roman and Jordan have the same management team.  Why would they put Jordan in a place where he would have to battle with the BBC.  They could have agreed a deal with Global for Jordan in the summer.  They might have had to pay first couple months but they would do they to secure him.  If they had known about Roman wanting to leave they could have paid Roman off to get Jordan on air quicker.  Global would also not had legal around BBC contract to deal with and would not have had to pay the BBC to release Jordan.  None of what people say makes sense and if it did happen the way people say then BBC are not the stupid ones.  It really is not a good look to be talking with Global for 6 months, to then sign a contract with a the BBC, continue to talk to Global behind BBC's back after signing and then couple of months later want to leave and to throw a hissy fit as the BBC are not giving you what you want when you want it. That not a good light for Jordan or his management.
    • Wow, surprised he signed a new contract in September but it says a lot about Jordan that he continued to a very high standard throughout last summer/autumn if this was all going on in the background.
