Matt Edmondson really is an underrated gem of a broadcaster.
Outstanding radio all week, but particularly a few minutes ago. 

Think that Radio 1 really needed this week, charity aside, to come together again. I don’t think they ever diverged, but the Jordan news I think was challenging and as a listener this week has secured that perception of the family again. 

It feels odd that Glastonbury has made their headliner announcement and big name performers on the stages that are broadcasted across BBC before big weekend when big weekend is held a month before. Interesting they have gone for a big weekend vibe almost with with Dua Lipa, SZA, Olivia Dean, Little Simz and Burna Boy playing the pyramid and Disclosure, The Last Dinner Party and Nothing But Thieves on the other stage.

Ah you cynics. If it was that orchestrated they'd not have stood at a finish line waiting for her last night only for her to arrive just as Newsbeat started. 

Some good fun on Capital Breakfast this morning to celebrate Chris Stark's birthday.

I could see him being genuinely happy about this.  He obviously was aware of their show being poorly received and this provides not only an out but an opportunity to do as @1_tw said above.  It's a much better springboard in to becoming a "star" imo even if also a demotion.

If anything this allows Dean to develop his style and skills to suit the radio 1 audience, with a view to breakfast in the future?
