  1. Cat Burns is one of the people I would love to get on my podcast that I host seeing that she has said she is autistic and has adhd would be a guest I’d like to manage to get on much like I would like to chat to Katie Thistleton about her ADHD. When it comes to next year I’d like to see The Last Dinner Party, Bar Italia, English Teacher, Kneecap, Say She She are the only predictions I can come up with gives you the vibe I’ve morphed into a 6 Music listener and becoming out of touch with the pop that radio 1 has been playing of course know I’ll not going to tick many names of but looking forward to what names I’m going to discover
  2. I mean Gabriels has had quite good year played on Radio 2 and 6 Music with Jacob Lusk having a take over on Radio 3 playing his favourite piano songs earlier this year which made for good listening and the group over December will appear on 6 Music as the stations artist in residency. I’d say Fred Again has had a big year.
  3. I mean it’s only been a couple of frequent days recently but it much feels that it has been the indie show that has been more vacated especially when Jack was covering Clara this summer on future sounds.
  4. Would like it if they allowed her the ability to pick her own selection of tracks to put in the mix that suit the spirit of her drum and bass show and the usual Friday and Saturday night party vibes that is vastly lacking from the stations New Years programming.
  5. No indication of whether it will be on Christmas Day itself remains a BBC Two fixture and no reference explicitly to no new performances still could be reflection of the new music releases and stories of the year but a archive with no live studio audience presentation and could be in it’s stripped back format.
  6. Yes, remember Scott and Chris having celebrity guests in the crimbo limbo think even Eddie Redmain and few of listeners favourites features and lively entertaining chat that filled the chat which was great radio. Nick Grimshaw even did some New Year’s Eve stuff and Nixtape highlighters in the crimbo limbo. Nixtapes trump Anthems any day. I understand your point about new music but considering radio 1’s audience is gen z and gen a having days where have couple when its back to back music from twenty and fifteen years ago didn’t feel the best fit. As the station should still play few up to date recent tracks in with the throwbacks not to lose their younger audience.
  7. It to be very good addition to the stations schedule over the festive period especially when it was rare that you would have repeated tracks of repeated in the chart from previous years.
  8. Think that Lifehacks will have a fortnight rest over Christmas and will return on the first sunday of January. They could easily keep 00s and 10s shows if they wanted to theme them around the Christmas songs of the two decades playlist Justin Bieber, Sia and Michael Bublé for the 10s Darkness for the 00s sure they can think of some others.
  9. It kind of feels lik they could end up getting a pool of the best of the future generation presenters over the past few years for the Christmas season. Assume that waiting to announce specials can imagine that in the next week that announcements will start to see some of the tv and radio highlights starting to be announced for the special Christmas new year stuff
  10. I do expect them to maybe have some of the big interviews from future sounds being re-spun in the crimbo limbo like Clara with Paul McCartney and Elton John maybe airing some of their music docu-series that come out this year.
  11. Most likely I feel for radio 1 on Christmas Day possibly not all right XMAS Day 02:00-07:00 assortment of the BBC Sounds/ Radio 1 Relax on brand playlists for Radio 1 like done before pre-recorded playlists of R1 Happy and R1 Relax as repeated on the R1 Relax on December Radio 1 Breakfast with Jordan 07:00-10:00 or 8 start XMAS Day All Takeover with music pop stars and other famous names 10:00-15:30 (Going Home) with Katie Thistleton 15:30-18:00 Arrielle Free 18:00-21:00 Christmas Kitchen Party vibe like Friday Dance Party mix of listeners request dance anthems and other odd bits and bobs Sian Eleri 21:00-23:00 Dan P Carter 23:00-01:00 Boxing Day would be good for a Radio 1 Relax day
  12. I do think they could do some good cutting the running time of the chart show to me as a programme it doesn’t need to be or shouldn’t be a chatty programme and considering how many weeks a track spends on the chart. The charro itself could be something more fast paced playing less tracks and or consider trimming the track lengths down as shorter cuts of show like the chart a chat with the artist is more preferable than doing in-house station humour. I think on a sn
  13. I think he’s a good presenter and really like him on future sounds but I do find when tried listening to him on future artists. It found few years into the shoe he’s talking as if it’s first ever show in slot if it was bit more calm and gentle presentation for the show and not overbearing that it’s high octane energy find Jack does end up with repetition of churning out same lines and phrases.
  14. I kind of think the sound of 2024 is one of the hardest for some years. I know that we have had a few success stories and am listening to radio 1 less but it seems that there has been more returns to the music scene and previous listed artists finally breaking through and ploughing on with making music. I feel that few previous names listed are going to have big year next year cat burns as one. Few names id like to see on it are: - The Last Dinner Party - Say She She - Bar Italia I’m by stuck on who else on the top of my head who can feature in the list.
  15. Even though it’s not the same station. It must provide the level of comfort of feeling like you never left. I wonder if Radio 2 ends up sharing the floor with radio 1 and having access to the live-lounge studios I wonder if there could be R2 and 6M recording sessions from that studio and maybe make it easier for different guests to make it onto a show on another BBC station
  16. They got one decks as in ones you can spin vinyl on but guess Gilles was used to the double turntables in 6 studios maybe should’ve used the phrase turntables.
  17. I remember tuning in to Gilles Peterson’s last saturday and was broadcasting from a 1 xtra studio show referencing how a single deck made it harder for his new vinyl feature. The imporession he gave made the move to the 8 as more temporary but I assume that what you are saying is bang on and know they probably are reconstructing and rebuilding new studios.
  18. Yes know Arrielle is getting more dance DJing work at the minute and is more in demand. My feeling they need to run essential mix and more stuff of the drum and bass show type of playlist go quite niche in the evening of NYE and in the daytime have playlists of pop/indie/soul-r&b/ rap with the likes of Mollie, Kenny, Jack and Victoria all pre-recorded
  19. I’d wonder if they may end up having a special of RMC looking at the live-lounges of the year. I said this on previous years they really could have a good thing in giving a window shop to the evening programming with Future Sounds of 2023 with Victoria Jane, Jack Saunders, Maia Beth, Nels Hylton, Jess Iszatt, Benji B providing their favourite songs that happened through the year, sessions, interviews and feature highlights. But also having genre and mood party playlists across the days running up to new year that would be designed for listening back on new years to select party mood.
  20. I think Jordan from now will do most of Christmas day’s breakfast for the rest of his career at the station and become a staple like Scott’s breakfast was. James maybe a good shout for drive and possibly with the scrapped Next Geneation takeover someone like James could end up doing one of the daytime shows like drive from Christmas Eve to the start of the Jan when the first full working week comes back Sam & Danni, may end up doing one of the crimbo limbo slots.
  21. Look forward to listening as the playlist isn’t my thing but would give his weekly a go
  22. The BBC are doing it a lot more if look back on any weekenders 1 xtra have done or some of the themed days 6 music have done they kind of put a sticker on the programme art work. Also seen that sticker on Radio 3’s Night tracks
  23. I do think that Matt and Mollie should leave at the same time I think that Mollie King could become good asset for Heart FM, Hits Radio or even Radio 2. If I was a commercial rival having someone that is a television personality and former pop-star who is a popular presenter a pop station. I think the station of Hits Radio isn’t as strong and doesn’t have a set image as it’s sister station Greatest Hits Radio should see Hits as a space to go all out pop station celebrating mix of girl bands, boy bands, one hit wonders and icon pop stars with playlists that follow trending songs on social media and the rising stars in pop.
  24. In addition to talking about Global Shaun Keaveny sets to launch a daily podcast for the Radio X brand who branched out to an XPosure Daily show. I wonder if they prepping him for X live show
