I'm not sure I understand the point of these changes. If it was a case of reducing the amount of shows over the summer, then maybe (even then, I thought it was poor for a national station to do that). Having three people hosting a show that lasts only 1 hr 45 seems a complete waste as well.
I'm not sure starting half an hour is anything to do with 'giving Greg a lie in'. It's still an early start to get up. If it's that much of an issue, maybe they should have given him a bit of a summer break. The fact weekend breakfast isn't being changed to match as well makes the schedule a bit disjointed. Seems a bit odd to me to shift Arielle away from a mainstream daytime show (early breakfast is classed as daytime) to quite a specialist show. Would've probably made things slightly easier for her to cover for Clara.

So many people have presented the Chart Show in recent weeks, including stand-in presenters. It gives the feel they don't see it as significant anymore.
It used to be they'd have a permanent presenter and a stand-in presenter. Now they seem to pluck out whoever has time to do it!
Tbf, this week... Jack and Jordan are both at Glastonbury, hence why they can't host. It's generally either Jordan or James Cusack (who is hosting today) who stand in.

Wonder if Adele Roberts has been poached for a commercial rival like Heart FM
It says that she will still be heard on BBC Radio. She's on Radio 2 Friday night sitting in for Spoony.

Yes I assumed they were more likely to get early breakfast, but it's great they're joining the family permanently. Gutted for Adele - but I trust she's got something in the pipeline.
I remember Aled saying he wasn't a fan of Radio 1 being broken up and run elsewhere, but seems Cardiff is becoming an important base for R1 and R2.
I suppose with Radio 2 moving out of Wogan House in the next few years, their remaining London based shows will make use of the studio space on the 8th floor.

Yes noticed that. Seems to be subtly appearing on Radio 1
It got played on the breakfast show on Monday as a 10 min takeover request, Party Anthems and the chart yesterday and Friday before, plus last Saturday's Dance Anthems... So they're not totally against it. It wouldn't surprise me if it gets picked on Something Songs soon as well.

Zoe and Vernon were talking about wanting Scott to bring back Innuendo Bingo. I really think it would be a missed opportunity if he didn't at some point
I've heard several mentions of 'Innuendo Bingo' this week, from Vernon and Zoe the other morning, now Gary Davies tonight. I wonder if they're alluding to a return to it in some capacity? I doubt it would ever return in it's Radio 1 form with the water spitting.

Richie Anderson is in for Dermot O'Leary on Saturday 1st July

There isn't a clear answer to this. For me it's a two sided thing, a very established artist shouldn't be played by default, equally they shouldn't not be played just as they have been around a long time. Coldplay and Adele are good examples. Also note that Capital didn't play Kylie's single.
If you're referring to her new one, it's on Capital's playlist.
-
A big example of that probably being Moves Like Jagger by Maroon 5. They wouldn't playlist it despite how big it got. They gave it a lot of spot plays as it became too big to ignore I recall.
Then they pretty much playlisted everything they did from then on through the 2010's (and of course had supported them heavily back in the day as well). Hips Don't Lie by Shakira is another one that wasn't playlisted...
... which is odd as I could've sworn I heard that a lot on Radio 1 at the time. Both tracks have been played a lot since though.
-
Although I'm sure the age old debate of Radio 1 not playlisting certain records will crop up again. Tbh, it could reach the top 5 and I doubt they'll even C list it. Long gone are the days of Radio play being a deal-breaker in songs becoming hits.
-
It was played the week before too. They do usually play the top 10 in full on First Look, so it's a bit baffling why the didn't play it last night...

Wet Leg really packed out the Future Sounds tent last year. Not surprised they're on the main stage this year.
I find it funny Rudimental are still flavour of the month at Radio 1
Tbf, their latest song is quite high in the charts, and D&B seems to be a sound that is returning to the mainstream lately.

I'm not really as into Big Weekend this year as previous years, but it is great radio when they all get together on the air. I think I've heard practically all the DJs on the air between last night and today.
The only notable absence from what I can tell is Adele Roberts.
-
I've heard them playing out trailers on Radio 2 for Big Weekend in the past week. Some rare cross promotion. Followed by Vernon Kay reminiscing about when "One Big Weekend" was in Dundee years ago.

OJ for Rylan this Sat
Looks like he's in for the next 4 Saturdays. He's sitting in on the 3rd, 10th and 17th June as well.
Jason Mohammed sits in for Owain on early breakfast W/C 18th June for two weeks. I think that's the first time he's been off since taking over the show.
Adele Roberts sits in for DJ Spoony (The Good Grove) on Friday 23rd June.
Emma Willis sits in for Dermot O'Leary on Saturday 24th June
Tina Daheley in for Jeremy Vine W/C Monday 26th June.
Nicki Chapman is sitting in for Zoe Ball on Monday 26th & Tuesday 27th June.
-
Hopefully he might pop back up on a BBC station soon like Radio 2 or 6 Music. Nice to see him returning to the airwaves though.

You've only given us half the story there. Also on BH Monday:
Nicki for Zoe
Gary for Vernon
When i last checked, Vernon was listed and Gary was still listed on breakfast so the schedule has obviously updated since I posted.

Bank Holiday Monday (29th May)
12pm-2pm Tony Blackburn Sounds Of Soul
2-4pm Richie Anderson in for Scott
4pm-7pm Steve Wright
7-9pm Best of the Piano Room.
-
Doubt it's This Morning related. There's no one listed to cover yet but it'll probably be one of Richie Anderson, Anita Rani or Gaby Roslin (or a mix of all three) no doubt.
-
Rylan said on his show this afternoon that he's off for a "fair few weeks", he didn't say exactly how many weeks he's off for. There's no mention on the schedule yet who's sitting in for him.
-
I'm enjoying his show, agreed. He sounds right at home already.

My question was is she Dean's sidekick? As in is she known on the station as being that? I didn't realise she was. How come that's what she's known as?
I can 'kind' of see why the impression is given that Dean takes the lead at times, but she's not a sidekick. They are co-presenters as per other duos on the station.
