I listened again this morning, and I was impressed. As sad as it is that Jordan left Radio 1, he has slotted in very well at Capital. Despite the fact it's three people, the show doesn't feel crowded at all. It helps that they are all good mates, so their bounce off each other really well. The adverts are a bit annoying, but.. they have the right balance of speech for a commercial breakfast show. I didn't think I'd actively tune into a show on Capital on a regular basis, but I'm tempted.

Has there been any talk/explanation why Calum has been on in the afternoon this week and if this is "permanent"?
Tbf, Calum does cover the main newsbeat and afternoon bullitens on occasion with someone else covering the mornings. presumably Priya Rai/Pete Allison are unavailable this week.

It was very much speculated on here, and now strong suggestion in the papers that it's why he was missing for five weeks.

Assuming that will air later this year.. the non celebrity version is starting now on BBC One.

Sat in the office and I've seen so many buses go past the window with Jordan's face on the side of it, ha.
It helps that Global have their own advertising business which is responsible for the ads on the side of buses so they're using that to their advantage. Although, slightly off topic.. I notice the BBC have been running an ad campaign for Radio 2 on sides of buses/billboards and on the TV, presumably trying to attract new listeners to replace the ones they've lost

Tanks on Jordan's lawn? Perhaps it is a one-week move to keep the music and chat flowing while they're fighting Capital.
Thing is though, unless they're already over their quota and have had permission to make permanent changes, they can't just cut back on news without making up the minutes elsewhere. There was a week a couple of years ago where the first bulliten of the day never went out for some reason.. so they made up for it with an extra bulliten during Vick & Jordan's show at 5pm.

Paddy is joining Radio 2 to present Sunday Mornings 11am-1pm with Michael Ball moving to Love Songs (9am-11am Sunday Mornings).
Also, The new host of Pick Of The Pops will be announced in "due course", with Gary Davies continuing to present in the I terim.

No different to giving Paddy McGuiness weeks of covering Rylan. BBC bosses are quite happy to give the job to a 'name' whether they have the credentials or not. Paddy performed better.
It does seem a bit silly to have all of these early breakfast trials and not make use of those on the rota.
Radio 2 have always generally used 'names' both for cover and weekend slots... some better than others. Rylan was given the Saturday afternoons after covering Zoe Ball on that show once or twice, and that turned out to be a good decision.
Although, I agree where Radio 1 is concerned, they generally use someone already on the network, or a freelancer with extensive radio background... and with the focus in the past few years with giving opportunities to up and coming presenters, it seems a bit odd that they've gone down this route with both Drivetime and Saturday morning. Considering it's only till July, they could've easily given the opportunity to someone who's done Christmas/bank holiday, Friday early breakfast etc.

OJ Borg in for Michael Ball tomorrow (31st March)

Danny beard moving to the 1-4pm slot maybe?
Don't give them ideas...

Clara Amfo's last show on Radio 1 tomorrow! Am I right in saying they're ditching the 'Future Sounds' name when Jack takes over?

Sian Welby was very good on a evening show solo when she 1st joined capital.
Wasn't she on Heart's evening show before she moved over to Capital to replace Vick Hope on the breakfast show? I agree she's always come across well both on radio and TV (you could say too good to be a sidekick/co presenter to Roman & Jordan).
I agree with the above post about Will Manning. The bits I have heard I've been impressed, had Jordan not been approached by Global, he would've been a strong replacement for Roman Kemp.

Sorry if it has been announced somewhere, I'm missing his Radio 2 show.
He's back on Tuesday 2nd April. There's another week of Spoony, Rylan's covering the following week, then Richie Anderson on Easter Monday.
-
Gary Davies is in for Michelle Visage tonight according to DJ Spoony.
OJ is in for Sara Cox on Monday 8th and Tuesday 9th April, with Phill Williams on overnights.
Anita Rani is listed in the Saturday mid morning slot for the 30th March, 6th April and 13th April.

Will these be normal shows though? As it’s Easter weekend.
Easter Monday is anthems, nothing special listed for Good Friday so that could be normal playlist/shows etc.

I guess this is because they have no one else to cover on 6 Music? Huw had to double shift it today.
More than likely. As said further up... with the show coming from Cardiff, it's a bit difficult to relocate production to another part of the UK last minute.. I assume Phil will be coming from Salford rather than having to travel all the way to Cardiff to cover.
A couple more bits:
Gaby Roslin is on breakfast for the rest of the week
Sue Perkins in for Michael Ball on Sunday 17th and 24th March.
-
-
Zoe Ball is understandably away from the breakfast show after she recently shared the news about her Mother being ill, so Gaby Roslin continues to stand in for now.
Huw Stephens is now in for Owain all week now instead of Jason Mohammad.
Judi Love is in for Rob Beckett on Sunday 31st March
Edit: It's changed again so Phill Williams is now listed on early breakfast for the rest of the week. Huw Stephens did yesterday and today (Monday and Tuesday)

Can't recall him covering on Radio 2 before? Is this his first time?
I am guessing this is more to do with the fact the show comes from Cardiff so has limited choice in last minute cover?
I imagine so, as it appears to be last minute. OJ Borg has covered the show a couple of times from Salford, but presumably as it's last minute... It's a bit more difficult to switch production to London or Salford.
-
Huw Stephens in for Owain Wynn Evans on early breakfast this morning (11th March). Jason Mohammad is in the rest of the week.

Can’t be many more weeks left for Claudia? I do enjoy Emma Willis as a presenter though. That shows going to have a bit of a gear change from Romesh takes over
Claudia's last show is on the 23rd March. She's off next week with Emma Willis sitting in, so she only has one show left.
A few more schedule changes... Easter Monday is:
Gaby Roslin in for Zoe Ball on the breakfast Show
Gary Davies in for Vernon Kay
Tony Blackburn's 'Sounds Of Soul' between 12pm and 2pm
Richie Anderson in for Scott Mills
Paddy McGuiness in for Sara Cox
Gaby and Gary are in for Zoe and Vernon respectively for all of that week, Tina Daheley is in for Jeremy Vine during the same week starting Tuesday 2nd April. Scott appears to be back on the 2nd April.

A few of the tabloids are running a story about Paddy McGuiness being in talks with Helen Thomas to join R2 on a permanent basis, after his recent 4 week stint in for Rylan. He's in for Sara Cox on Good Friday and Easter Monday.
The papers are usually on the money with these sorts of stories, so will be interesting to see where he'd fit in. The only thing I could see (without anyone else losing out) is sharing Sunday afternoons with Rob Beckett (like Rob used to with Paul O'Grady), or there are some changes surrounding the future of Sunday Love Songs and Pick Of The Pops?

It popped up in my feed earlier that they're actually rolling out 'The Jordan' breakfast roll tomorrow in a few select Greggs stores for people to try out.
