I just can't see who'd do it Scott and Chris would be on 5live then. My other choice would be Dev but unless it's prerecorded. Nick Bright could do it but again he's on 1xtra and 5live over that weekend so I can't think of who'd do it. What's your idea for the format? Tagert audience?

I think huge is a understatement, I'd say they bought some magic to the airwaves, for me he's still magic, but I kinda prefer his style on R1, kinda felt rebellious now on x hes good but I've been on a break from Radio x so havent heard him lately

Random thought I had: what one presenter (I’ll count sidekicks or anyone who was on air too) For me it would be Chris Smith with the news. I got into Greg’s drive time Show in the last 18 months of it really......… But I remember how magic Chris Smith was on air with Greg! They were like brothers on air. I’ll always treasure that show. For me Greg with out Chris. It feels empty without him ?

I meant this to be a schedule in a few years time....you known the changes will happen slowly over the years.

Im a Radio X Listner. Sorry Greg:( But X is way funnier in the morning. I cant see Toby doing Radio X Breakfast. When Chris goes the team will go with him im sure. And Toby is a bit average when it is just him. Im sure 1 could pinch some younger djs off global and bauer. DJ'S in their 20s and 30s ill list a few Lillah Parsons(heart) Lauren Layfeild(capital) Issy Panyais(Radio x) Sarah Jane Crawford(Hits Radio) was at 1xtra. Vick Hope(capital breakfast) Will Manning(Big top 40) Tom and Daisy(kiss) some of these maybe be older.. but what i think is more important. Is how young and appeling they sound to R1'S tagert audience

Forget about him. This sounds like a metaphorical arrow pointing towards their specialist shows. This sounds AWFUL. There’s a reason these shows are on at the time they are. Must have a had a drop on these shows. RMC back on daytime seems a bit odd as well.

Finally someone else who hasn’t watched this! Didn’t hear this but she seems a bit stuck up. What can she do to Radio 1? It’s not defamation it was a joke form what I gather.

I was thinking about how Radio 1 will be in the future. The station is falling behind with another down in RAJAR figures. Feels like with radio 1 the station keeps trying to push it itself. I feel it’s past it’s prime and peaks. I only listen to select shows now as and when I want to. Whereas before I’d have it on anytime I could! R1 in recent months feels like it’s trying to find an new audience but doesn’t know where and how to appeal to them. Feels like their best presenters are slowly being tied into a format of being solely there to do links and occasionally interview a guest or speak with a caller. Anyway this got me thinking about the future of Radio 1. I can see why is it on a down. When they do silly stunts like Hide and Seek or the escape room it feels like it’s an giant metaphorical arrow pointing back to Radio 1. As if to say”Hey look what we do” Feel like the station needs more charm and a shakeup if they want to catch up with other stations. Drop the old presents who are past their prime. Like Nick for example. Breakfast host for 6 years had his prime feels like he’s an old toy of sort. Had all the fun now sitting there occasionally being used in a silly antic but nothing more. I have noticed R1 have realised this presumably- trying to milk Matt and Mollie. “Young”- well by R1 standards these days. By giving Mollie the show before theirs essentially adding more to the show. Could’ve easily sat there as a feature maybe with both. But are trying to milk it. And as for Arielle- i must say I really like her as a presenter. She’s good I’m sure she’ll nail her show. Maybe even bring listening figures up ?(doubt it- their main presenters can’t and she’s in a graveyard shift) I mean she’s got experience as a presenter doing TV Radio and Podcasts. I’m sure Heart or Capital will be putting bid in for her soon. As at R1 she’s probably been given that show so they can use her to cover shows more frequently perhaps? Who knows. Anyway I feel R1 is lost in terms of direction as to where it wants to be. Maybe this new ‘Pop Controller’ can push R1 in the right direction?

He was probably on a 2-3 year contract with the BBC. So when that runs out. I assume that’s when he’ll go!

Also thought we might have a quiet year this year on R1(minus new chart+silly games)

Well done to Arielle. She deserves it. I reckon R1 have more announcements on the way. Perhaps Jordon has a new show. Also feels like Adele’s going to be binned off daytime soon. Feel like Clara’s next to go as well...

I feel like it'll be a series of challenges to complete like Dave's Taskmaster- Maybe listeners can phone/text/tweet in with some help?
