Only £19,000 raised so far. I thought it would be quite a bit higher than that and I think Greg sounded a bit disappointed in that as well.
-
And Greg still isn’t there, an hour late.
They also seem to be having quite a few technical issues with how cold it is.
Adele has also said that today is his shortest cycle and is also meant to be the warmest day this week so I’m a bit worried for him for the rest of the week.

Not sure if I missed this, but I see that Greatest Hits also has a random Thursday night into Friday morning slot for an hour at 3am:
I think this is only here for a few weeks before the new comedy starts on a Friday morning as well.

A lot more songs too, Maya managed to play 51 (!) songs today, Matt usually played around 40. And the songs were a lot more 'new' aswell

Probably because Matt is playing a lot less songs than Alice used to, so it evens out throughout the day.
-
So how was Maya then? I didn’t get a chance to listen

Scott's doing the chart from 3-4! Did think the same thing at Maya Jama, doubt it'll be a joint co-host for the chart though.
Thanks very much. Just a quick question, how do you get this scheduling information so early before it’s on? I use the radio times website and uk TV guide but they only go 2 weeks in advance
-
Really looking forward to this and I also think the mic thing is a very clever idea.
I wonder how the chart will work on that Friday? Last time they did it on Scotts show but it’s supposed to be Scotts first show with Maya Jama so I’m not sure how that will work?

Big Weekend this year has been turned into Biggest Weekend with the the three other BBC music stations and in conjunction with BBC music to replace Glastonbury this year.
This means that there is going to be a stage in all 4 nations of the UK and Radio 1 is in Wales in SWANSEA!
All 4 events will happen on the weekend of the 26th, 27th and 28th of May.
Officially confirmed artists are Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran at the moment.
-
Sat 3rd Feb:
7 - 9 Seani B in for DJ Target
Sat 10th Feb:
4 - 7 Adele Roberts in for Mistajam
-
-
Not many changes this week:
Mon 22 and Tue 23:
1:00 - 4:00 Dev in for Scott
Sat 27 and Sun 28:
10:00 - 1:00 Jordan in for Matt
-
Any thoughts on the show after a few months?
I think it’s very different to anything else on the radio at the moment which is good. I also love the unprecedentedly about the whole thing. I do feel it is a bit too 1xtra though. But I do enjoy listening to it.

Maya's show from Christmas is still up on iPlayer, if you can handle the Christmas music:
I hope she can improve her News Intros then! They were awful!!

Well I’m not sure what to think of these changes and I’m not sure whether they were really needed especially in a time I thought the BBC were making cutbacks. Anyway some pros and cons:
Pros:
• Jordan has got his own show at last
• Matt has got his normal show back (which will hopefully mean his podcast as well)
• Although, it seems a bit of a step back for Alice, it gives her more freedom to do other things.
Cons:
• Maya isn’t really needed - Jordan could have done both the Greatest Hits shows and WHY does Scott need a co presenter.
• The Greatest Hits show is still around.
• Matt having a co-presenter every Saturday. Is he not able to present his own show anymore?
I’d say I’m quite 50/50 right now but I could be wrong and tune in with it all sounding brilliant!

wonder why Dev is covering two odd days
Todays show was very Scott esque wonder if its his team working with Matt as opposed to the usual leave thing where Matts team are poducing
When Scott did breakfast over Christmas was this his team or Grimmys?I think Dev maybe covering because I remember Matt saying he’s going on holiday for a bit so he probably can’t cover. It would be interesting to see if Chris is there because I can’t remember if Dev has ever covered with Chris before.
I think it probably was Scotts team producing Matt as Chris was there and it had all the normal features.

I thought I would start a thread that I will hopefully update every Sunday evening with the schedule changes for the next couple of weeks, just to inform people on here:
Mon 15th to Fri 19th:
1:00 - 4:00 Matt in for Scott
Mon 22nd and Tue 23rd:
1:00 - 4:00 Dev in for Scott
Sat 27th and Sun 28th:
10:00 - 1:00 Jordan in for Matt

I highly doubt the decision for Greatest Hits remaining a permanent show would have been decided by a show producer - I would imagine that would have gone via the Head of Programmes, one Aled Haydn Jones.
Yeah, I get that. But maybe his new producer wanted them so went to Aled or someone else high up to ask?
-
I agree with all of this said above. I’m actually pretty happy with the state of Radio 1 at the moment in terms of DJs and the schedule but what’ve they really need to sort out the songs played.
I really don’t think Matt needs the Greatest Hits show and I wonder whether his new producer wanted to put that in, as that started as soon as his new producer came - it makes his show very devoid of personalities and features.
I just wanted to answer a couple of people’s points about the amount of music played - Adele plays around 38-40 tracks, Nick plays around 45 tracks, Clara plays around 40-43, Scott plays around 40-43 tracks and Greg plays about 35 tracks - so looking at it that way, Scotts show and Nicks shows have been increased the most, with Greg’s being the least seemingly not being increased at all.
I am also sad so have also made a complaint to the BBC today.

Hi, I’m new here.
I’m Dan and I have been lurking on the forum for a while now and with being on the UM whatsapp chat, I thought it was time to join in with the discussions!
New Weekend Schedule February 2018
in BBC Radio 1

I agree with everything that’s been said the last couple of days. Mollie has been sounding great with Matt and it’s a shame that she’s going to go and be replaced by Scarlett Moffatt, who’s just irritating. Matts solo show has also been sounding very slick.
I’m enjoying the Greatest Hits show, more with Jordan but Maya isn’t as bad as I was expecting her to be.
I do wonder a couple of things though - what will happen when Matts on holiday or something? Will his cohost present on their own or will someone else present with them? Also, when Scott and Chris are on breakfast, I wonder if Maya will join them on Fridays or if she will stay with the cover presenter?
Finally, I think the producers of the weekend shows have moved around as well - Matts moved with him onto the new show, Dev’s old one has moved onto the Greatest Hits so I presume Alice’s producer will be producing her and Dev.
Overall, I feel like Radio 1 is in a great shape right now and probably the best for quitea few years!
