  1. I like browsing UM on my phone because I can't view the author of a post at the same time as the post so I get to guess who has posted what by the content and style. That was a great example of a DC post. As for me, life is ok right now... which probably means things will go very wrong soon.
  2. Yeah, I mentioned it to my mum this morning, but she seemed more interested in making coffee so didn't seem to be listening. I've told her about it, and I've written it on the calendar, but she'll probably still claim that I never mentioned it to her.
  3. Happy birthday! I hope you have a really good one. Can't find an appropriate image to attach as I'm on a train...
  4. I've met something like 7 people off the internet, plus I've met people through those people I met online. My parents know about some of these people I've met. It shouldn't be too difficult I suppose, I just don't like answering their questions. I'm 21, I go random places and meet random people a lot for work, and it's not like I'm staying away anywhere. Just gotta tell them I guess, meh. I guess the fact I haven't spent a weekend at home with them since.... er... about last December is making them a little bit paranoid that I've been avoiding them!
  5. The big question: Should I tell my parents what I'm doing, or just say I'm going to meet uni friends up north for the day? The main reason I don't tell my parents what I'm up to is because they then ask far too many questions. Does anyone else have trouble explaining where they're going to family/friends? Meeting people off the internet is becoming more common but it's still got a bit of a bad reputation...
  6. Yeah, someone should bring a camera. Mine broke months ago
  7. Aww that does round pretty rubbish Danni. Tomorrow I have to be in work before 8.30am to have an hour's 'training' in something I've basically worked out how to do for myself over the last 6 weeks. I'll have to be up at 6.30am and it's not in work time so I won't get paid for it and will have to work till 6pm.
  8. On saturday night I went to some bars in Nottingham with a bunch of my uni friends & bf. The bar was decorated with cotton wool to look like spiders webs. We got drunk and threw cotton wool at each other. Yay for maturity! Saw lots of fancy dress around Nottingham, even more than is usual on a Saturday night. I have no interest in dressing up though, neither do my friends. There were lots of bits of pumpkin in the streets in the student area of town from parties.
  9. I read that article, I like the bit about the different kinds of insomniac brain. My mind tends to be most active at night with crap music and self criticism. His article made me laugh but I also like what he's saying as someone who suffers from insomnia a lot.
  10. It's the weekend and I'm on a train and this weekend I get to see my best friend who I've not seen for 2 months and some other uni friends, and the bf. Also I've got Monday off work 3 day weekend here I come!
  11. Wow because that didn't sound stalkerish.... Who is she anyway? 60% of the working week is gone! Friday is getting closer and closer... makes me very happy.
  12. Oh right... so she looks about 50, and he looks about 13. She looks like she could be his grandmother. I've got you. It's like that baby-faced kid who was supposed to have become a dad at 13 (but it turns out wasn't actually the father). I'm not sure about soap operas being an accurate representation of reality though.
  13. So is there a big age gap then? How young is this lad? I still can't really picture it. Does anyone have photos or something?
  14. I guess we ought to swap mobile numbers beforehand, would make it easier to meet up. I'm not suggesting anyone posts them on here though, that would be silly. Out of interest, who is definitely/probably coming?
  15. Ah awesome, my friend is going to that later this week. Steel Panther are great. You missed a classic DC comment back there though, pretty shameful of you. What rocks is I'm going to Nottingham on Friday and I'm staying there till Monday and lots of my friends are going to be there.
  16. It's a big station. But I agree, a shop/landmark within the station would be better. I've only been to Manchester once.
  17. At work facebook is blocked apart from between 12.30-2pm. Seems to work alright. They actually use Twitter to promote the company and communicate with potential clients. When I worked for a local authority, they had written a policy on the use of 'Web 2.0' for promoting council services and initiatives, but blocked all social networking sites at work. Now that's joined up thinking. In my current job not much seems to be blocked though.
  18. I wanted to take advantage of cheap tickets, now I know that I'm definitely gonna day trip it from London. No one had decided on a time to meet so I thought I'd get there just before 1pm since it seems a civilised enough time.
  19. Ok I've booked my train tickets so I'm definitely coming I'm gonna be there from about 1-6.30pm. Who else is a definite? It's not long away now.
  20. Don't have a clue who these people are. Perhaps someone could briefly summarise? Or maybe I'm better off not knowing...
  21. I was confused by this. I thought maybe she wanted one of those walk-in baths or something. I didn't see what was so wrong with a bath, apart from being less water efficient than a shower.
  22. https://www.bbc.co.uk/complaints/forms/ Or iPlayer it and use Shazaam....
  23. I like how we're now on the subject of the ideal breast size. I guess that's what everything comes down to with men I hope everyone who is ill feels better soon. My 18th was ok, I spent it with a bunch of friends who I haven't seen for about 2 years now. Meh. I have better friends now, who I hope I will still know in 3 years' time. What sucks for me right now is I have IBS stomach pain and I currently look like I'm about 5 months pregnant because of it.

    Clocks Go Back

Mine went off at 6:50am on Friday as it was supposed, although I'd woken up at 6:49am for no reason  I did hear that the DAB time changed on Friday morning, making some people late. This morning I woke up at 8:20am, thought "damn this is early for a Sunday", then realised that it was actually 7:20am. A non-work day, and I slept in an extra half hour. FML. I'm hoping I'll sleep earlier tonight though. I don't like how it's approaching the time I'd normally leave work and it's nearly dark.
  25. Awesome. I saw them in 2007 in Nottingham, was a good laugh and they put on a great show as well. All for only £10. Not sure I can make it to this tour though. I suppose what rocks is that it's only 2 more days at work and then it's the weekend.
