    With the new imaging for Radio 1 Breakfast getting introduced this week I thought I'd share my little library of the old intro that I've had since Greg's first breakfast show.

    Included are all the variations of the intro used (I believe) which are - Greg James, Scott and Chris, Matt and Mollie, The unnamed intro (Used when Jordan and Mollie covered as well as Arielle Free) and the solo Scott Mills intro (Used when Chris' wife had their baby). 

    There are also 3 variations of "The One For Getting Up" (TOFGU in the folder) as well which are - Greg James, Scott and Chris and an unnamed version (If anyone happens to have a Matt and Mollie and Scott Mills version then please let me know!)

    Hope anyone who has wanted these enjoys them - I'm looking forward to posting  more on here soon

    I would like to go with Scott and Greg, i'd love to discuss their early careers, I am on community radio,what it was like for Scott to work at an old FM station in the 90s, and when is Scott planning to go to R2... (I wonder if ladbrooks would run a book on it lol) Sadly at 40 I am too old to chase the dream, the biggest slot I get to cover is weekday drive on Uckfield FM which has a good following, usually twenty odd online listeners, and lots of FM in shops and all around the town, Uckfield drive is great on a Friday, from 6 there is a feature called "feel good Friday" which is similar to "ready for the weekend" Scott used to do, but more 90s/00s dance music, also just bagged Monday breakfast at 107 Meridian FM, which I have just been given but not done it yet. I'd love to learn what life is like at R1, what happens behind the scenes, what is Aled like as a boss compared to how he was on air years ago, and was Moyles really as much of a bully as rumored. 

    I also like Mistajam as well, he seems like a great mate when he's on the radio.

    Going to miss Scott covering next time, but i'll be tuning to R2 next week as this could be the start of him covering weekday shows, not sure he'd get to cover for Vine though, but I can see him covering for Ken and Sara and maybe Zoe 

    Greg is great on breakfast, and they did the right thing putting him on drive for 6 years so he could come in and refresh it after the Grimmy era, imagine if he had got it after Moyles, then he would probably have finished now and we would have a new host, although I still maintain that Scott should have been appointed in 2012 and maybe Grimmy getting afternoons

    But if Scott had got it then where would he be now? probably out, the reason he's been about so long is not only his relevance but also he's not in the prime slot, so in the background as such 

    I can see Jordan getting 1-330 if Scott moves to R2 full time, i'd say he would be lined up for the big show if SW retires, but with a schedule change to 2-430 and Sara starting at 430 instead of 5 

     

    If I was the controller of R2 I would remove the Vine slot if he went to TV full time have Zoe 630-10 Ken 10-1, Scott 1-4 and Sara 4-7

    I always thought Party Anthems was good 6-7 as it kind of symbolised end of the working week and start of the weekend. Bit pointless 3-4. If they wanted to bring Annie Mac forward I would of done Official Chart 3-5 and Party Anthems 5-5:45. 

    I don't understand why they have kept Party Anthems, as Annie could include some of those commercial tunes in her first hour

    I heard Ben Cooper lost out on a popular music role within the BBC and it was awarded to a lady. And then he possibly got the hump with the Beeb and decided to leave.

    Aled has been in charge longer, he was head of programes under Cooper since 2017 or so, and he was instrumental in Greg going to breakfast, he has essentially been doing the day to day running of Radio 1 since then and continues to do so today

    I could see Scott going back to drive, but I am not so sure if that would be a backward step?

    Also BH Monday Clara in for Scott 11-3 as it is Scotts week 

    Scott is on Radio 2 in for SWITA 2/5

    Really pleased to see this back on Thursday at 5, think it should stay when lock down is over 

    Love the fact as well they are just using all the old breakfast show sweepers and all for the feature

    Its quite easy actually software like cleanfeed is available for such things, I am sure the BBC will set their guys up with a proper link

    The Chart shows starting at 3 as does Dance Anthems - I suspect they'll run more of the top 40 from 3-530/545 if Newsbeat still is on, and then Party Anthrms or just have the chart 3-5 and Anthems 5-7? 

    Dance Anthems pretty easy have the usual format but longer 3-430 classics 430-6 todays and 6-7 future 

     

    One of the community stations I work on has gone to 3 live shows a day only with hour gaps of music between presenters so they don't mix and have instructions not to arrive until 30 mins before broadcast starts I am doing drive tomorrow and Friday which will be weird not seeing anyone although listenership is up 

    One of the others I do has gone to live breakfast and drive only rest of it is being done via Myriad anywhere, which is a great bit of kit

    The 5 live show is billed as Scott Mills and Chis Stark, but when he was off sick couple weeks ago Chris did it, so i'd imagine it's Chris solo

    ALSO when Scott covered the chart in Greg's era, did he cover it in full, I remember the beast from the east show Scott did it from 1430 to 1600 to allow the 4-7 show to be dedicated to Gregathlon 

    Before that would Scott move from 1-4 to cover the 4-7 chart show and someone else cover his 1-4 show?

    Yeah it's happened before where Jordan covers and the schedule isn't clear 

     

    Alice is off for quite a few weeks

    yeah - tonight is an example covering for Tony 

    I wonder what is pre recorded the last half hour or so of Party Anthems or the first link on R2

    Or is he doing the R2 show from R1 

    Or is he doing it all from R2 today, be interesting if he has a chat with Sara Cox

    But yes, Think it's time R1 ditched a few dj's. Maybe Matt and Mollie? That show sounds like Capital. Reckon Matt will leave. He's been there over 10 years!! Reckon Greg and Grimmy are safe. They are on at primetime so they'll be fine. If I was to guess 3 DJ'S to leave. I'd say Matt, Annie and Huw.

    I reckon they should put Scott back on drivetime
