I wonder... it's not billed as a presenter led show.. Will Scott be making an appearance? I know he has taken Ken's place now with Rylan on R2 from 8pm

Take it charlie has one hour only of classics then one hour of current? or just two classics and drop the future

    - the only criticism is the switch from the usual mainstream playlist just before PA to proper dance then back again after to chart stuff only to then go back to dance again after with Danny is a bit jarring.

I have NEVER understodd why they did that - Main list to dance to main playlist, to dance. I get the 6pm start in the week for specialist, but on Friday why didn't they just leave it on at 6, with Scott or Jack.

Long gone are the days when you'd have Jordan covering every show going!

Or the days when Scott used to cover everything going when he was on earlies and weekends

Same as Dev as well he used to get out on weekdays quite a bit

I'm probably gonna get a load of flack for this, but I'm really hoping that Scott Mills' show gets a bit more structure to it - there just doesn't seem to be any point to it at the moment - It's like he's filling-in for Steve Wright ....

He is likely easing listeners in easy at the start, and suspect some more will come this year, maybe start introducing some of his old features

    Here's a curveball prediction.

Arielle Free to leave for big slot at Kiss or Capital Dance.

I can actually see this happening. Specially as Mistajam is basically the Station Manager/programme Director for Cap Dance. I reckon she could be in line for breakfast there if the current presenter moved on to regular Capital.

  7. And anthems are not that hard to present, they are ore mixed "blocks" so 2/3 tracks per block with an extended outro to talk over and the DJ gets a cue sheet telling them the hit marker points as far as I can see? so all they have to do is play thge block then talk at the end until the hit marker

  8. I totally think the choice of Dean and Vicky to replace Scott was the fact that A. it's from Salford and B. they are new and young and have potential to be a new drive show when Greg goes, with Jordan and Vick on breakfast

They could be on daytime a good 10-14 years I would say

I totally think it was governed by Salford though, if it had been London based, then naturally should have been Matt & Mollie although Matt is in the Grimmy/Scott/Adele zone now of being slightly too old to start a daytime show, and may just hang out on weekends and be main weekday cover, I can see them covering drive if J&V take the same leave

He used to cover drive for Greg back in the day

  9. Dear Scott & Chris

You are such legends, I started listening way back when Scott was on drivetime about 2005/6. I remmber how gutted I was when they announced you were moving to 1-4 and feeling that may have been the start of the end, but no Moyles went, Grimmy came and went, and you have been there, the constant in my mid 20s right to now when I am the wrong side of 42.

I am sure you'll both agree that one of the best things that happened was you never got breakfast, always the bridesmaid, but always there.. and helped your longevity.

I have loved your show, the lols, and the features and really inspired me to get into radio. I always wondered "how do they do that, and what is that noise between the songs" etc etc, fast forward ten years I walked in to my local community radio station and said "I love Scott Mills, I want to do what he does" and they showed me the ropes and before I knew it I was presenting my own drivetime show.

I have moved stations now and am on one of the biggest commnity stations in Sussex, weekday evenings, also covering weekday daytime slots, I have learnt so much, segue editing, sweepers, voice tracking, and how to hook listeners, talking upto the vocal and how much to dip the fader! and what a good bed sounds like.

I now present both live and Voicetracked shows and I have you to thank for that!. Totally in awe of dance anthems I kitted myself out at Home specially as Covid hit and now have a syndicated (networked) three hour dance show based on Dance Anthems (mine is called Dance Party Weekly) that is on about 65 stations worldwide, and a show called "Ready For The Weekned" totally inspired by your old Ready For The Weekend show on a Friday which later became Dance Anthems under Greg then you got it back in 2018! Ready For The Weekend is one hour and is on about 25 stations.

I adore producing both these shows weekly and take much pride in them, and always remember the words from the sunset podcast "you are only as good as your last show" I treat every one as the last, and go for it every time, the result is that I am well respected on the CR circuit for producing a tight, good sounding, consistent format, and I only learnt all about that from you, watching loads of interviews on youtube, and on the 52 hour Moyles show (yes still watch that a lot) so I owe you a big glass of vino yassss

I'll be keen to hear you on R2 and will move over with you and cannot wait to hear you on there, not so keen on capital breakfast but Chris I will give you a listen.

Best of luck in your new ventures.... love you bye.. x

I would think 3rd October just guessing though

Suppose that gives him 2 / 3 weeks off after finishing R1 - suspect there will be magazine and TV interviews he will be doing as well as it is a high profile departure (I would say higher profile than when Grimmy and Annie left and when Grimmy and Greg swapped - Maybe as high as when Moyles left?) then a couple of weeks "moving in" at R2, meeting his team and getting pilot shows done? suspect Scott hasn't done a Pilot show for some time as when he took the chart over he had previously covered it so knew the format, and when he moved from Drive to lunch is was a copy/paste of the drive show but at a different time with more music.

I wonder why they are doing that again

Saves getting someone to cover - but IMO would make sense for someone to "cover" the 1-330 show for the gap week

While on that - how long between Scott finising R1 and starting R2
