Must be very hard for them, because they can't continue Greg's old features as it's not effectively Greg's show anymore neither is it Grimmy's yet so all they can do is a pretty standard show, ali Plumb seems to be in his normal slot though Will be the Same for Scott on Breakfast Will we get the "shortest R1 breakfast show ever gags again" which happened between Moyles and Grimmy? or will it be a standard cover time where he just does his usual act using the normal jingles and stuff until the end, which means in effect it would have been Grimmy's format until the end three weeks after he's left I wonder if he'll have Greg in the week before as well, because I seem to remember Grimmy being on both Moyles' show before he started and on Scotts cover show a few days before

I would take a punt that she will be moving to afternoons as well? maybe she'll do the 1245 and 1745 like chris does now, remember Chris acts as a Manager for newsbeat on a Friday so maybe hes been promoted and one of the newer voices will join Greg OR the whole thing of "he's not moving with me" is a massive Decoy and in fact he WILL appear doing the 0630 news on day 1 of the new show, and we've been fooled like the hide and seek gag Tina is in a unique position I would say as she's been part of two "last" breakfast shows I'm sure Moyles said to her on the last show something along the lines of "your'e okay love" I remember she was always more of a player on Moyles show and was very emotional on the last show

I have just started as the "cover" DJ on a local community station, the reason is my job is shift work s cant take the regular slots that are going, so Iv'e said to the station management I can do cover work when needed, just finished training, one more co hosting show to do with the regular drive time guy and I'll be away I'm not expecting to get near the breakfast show mind, i'd think they'll put the drive guy on that and me on drive

I am pretty sure the last cover he did he used the CM jingles, I am sure I listened to that podcast here recently Anyway yes that makes sense and then they'll use the new Jingles after And like Dev and Alice he will have to also remember hes not "in" for anyone so cannot say "It's Scott here in for Nick Grimshaw/Greg James" so I wonder if will be a business as usual approach as in he will do Grimmys format or just his own show Noticed Alice and Dev have totally dropped all of Gregs stuff on drive

It's all over the show but getting other presenters some exposure I also think we'll get 3 weeks of Scott on Breakfast which leads me into my next question; will Scott use his breakfast package which is basically Grimmys but with the name changed to Scott's or will he just use his generic afternoon jingles, like when he covered between Moyles and Grimmy and milk it being the "shortest breakfast show ever" except if this is longer than five shows it won't have been Also noticed Alice and Dev did well not making reference to Greg apart from at 1806 when they said "should we be doing something now" referring to the ten minute takeover Of course it must be hard for them not to say "oh hi it's Dev and Alice here in for Greg" at the moment

Agree it pulled a crowd and gave listeners of Greg and Nick's shows a taste of their new presenters, nothing as monumental as the 52hr show though, but Greg may try and beat that in the future maybe

So I wonder when they decided this, if Ben knew immediately if Greg would be the replacement ? I wonder if Mills was approached first and said no - would be interesting to find out although we probably never will I reckon Greg signed up when they went to the 4 day week i reckon that was the point they decided he was going on Breakfast and he did a bet of an Evans wanting only 4 early starts a week so they decided to give two of the other shows Fridays off as well I STILL STILL say Mills should have been the replacement for Moyles in 2012, maybe about 2010 time would have been better but then where would he be now, probably Radio 2, at least the way things have gone he's reinvented himself and continues to do so with things like the chart and all

Its funny looking at schedule Says "Jordan in for Scott" and "Adele in for Clara" yet on drive just says "Dev and Alice" presume as after next Thursday it's not Greg's show anymore so it will be the funny interim period when it's no ones show - Same thing happened when Moyles left and Scott covered "a breakfast show with no name" Wonder if Scott covers the weeks after Grimmy finishes then he will use the standard Jingle package for the breakfast show he has or will he use his standard afternoon ones in readiness for a new package for Greg

It moved from Gregs 1-4 show to drivetime when he and Scott swapped shows Very much looking forward to Gregs last show, hoping it will be a montage of best bits Also wonder how long he will have off before he starts Breakfast I personally think he'll have three weeks off maybe two and a half with a few days shadow running alongside Grimmy or Scott if Grimmy is off also - remember they usually trial the show off air in real time a few times before I also have a theory that Grimmy will be on breakfast until the end and then have a few weeks off before starting his new show - so both new shows don't start on the same day, although when Greg and Scott were swapped it was over one weekend only Scott did his last show on the Friday and first 1-4 show on the Monday I really hope though we get Grimmy off as well so it will be like 3 weeks of Scott on breakfast and Dev on drive or Jordan or even Mistajam which also means Matt and or Mollie on Scotts show

I'm 38 and love R1 still Hi and Welcome I have listened to R2 recently as well but Ken and Steve Wright sound so old, like Sara Cox on breakfast when she covers R1 presenters are great as they are in touch with all listeners, and their shows suit such I think And considering they have just given 32 year old Greg the breakfast show says allot, replacing a 32 for a 32 When Moyles left he was 38 and it was said at the time had he been replaced with 37 year old Mills at the time, it would have been like for like, so they replaced him with 27 year old Grimshaw, so the ageist thing has gone and I think an element of it all is Aled Jones's input

Yeah it does but what about Tina ? she's been part of the breakfast show for years - will she move with Grimmy or just leave with him? I suppose Smith wants to move but it probably depends on what is happening with Tina If Chris Smith moves to breakfast someone else will have to do the afternoons

It would have been, hopefully he'll remain as the main cover DJ but I have a feeling Dev might be the cover maybe? or Mistajam? By giving him breakfast would have been his finial move at R1 though, so giving him the chart is a new lease of life for our lad Mills for a few years Also what's to say if Grimmy went in a year or so Scott didn't take Drive again for a couple years while he transitions to R2, or even covering R2 shows in the week then chart on a Friday I agree with you all, this could/probably will be a whole new iteration of the breakfast show, with a much safer pair of hands at the wheel and the best thing they have done in a long time, and it can assure you all its all being driven by Aled

Greg hero worshiped Moyles so I wonder how his show will look, maybe we will have some proper jingles back and a zoo format hopefully with Chris Smith as the Dom type person and Grace Although Sophie from Scotts show has just moved to be with Grimmy so wonder if she'll go back to afternoons and this move was to get her used to working with Grimmy

It is no surprise to be honest I always said Grimmy would do 6 and step down and sure enough it's happened as soon as he's beaten Blackburn Also FeFe going was a sign of changes as well Plus side we get Greg which will be a great listen and hopefully still Mills as cover As for the weekend thing, maybe if Mills starts to transition to R2 then Grimmy takes the chart over who knows Also Grimmy gets to have handovers with his bestie Annie Mac and maybe part of her show as well "hanging about" It gives him and Greg a refresh and Mills has had one as well with the chart, although can see Mills being chart only soon and maybe greatest hits one weekend day to make way for one of the others to do weekday afternoons then leaves Mills free to cover shows on R2 etc Moyles must be chuckling as he will be the record holder for at least another 8 years and longer if Greg doesn't last as long NOTE Grimmy and Greg are same age so this is NOT an age thing
