Based on what I can work out from the descriptions on the schedules on the Radio 1 website, no, although this is partly guesswork.
2008: Chris Moyles, not sure where
    2009: Scott, not sure where
2010: Chris Moyles, live from Bangor
2011: Chris Moyles, live from Cumbria
2012: Chris Moyles, Hackney Weekend so in the studio as normal
2013: Grimmy, live from Northern Ireland
    2014: Grimmy, not sure where
    2016: Grimmy, in the studio
2017: Grimmy, probably live from Hull (because Adele and Clara were that day)
Speaking of genre diversity, am I right in saying there was no In New Music We Trust/Where It Begins stage this year?
And one more thing: is there a video anywhere of Scott and Chris doing live Bangers on stage? It was just mentioned on air.

Still no sets on iPlayer from the other stage on Saturday, watching the ive main stage thing is great but missing the djs on screen and the lack of radio coverage, the bbc staff are probably just stretched with the 4 sites

Have to say, I'm a bit jealous watching all the Instagram stories of the Radio 1 DJs right now. They're all out in Swansea and it looks like they're having such a laugh, is it weird that I'd love to be mates with them.
Chris Stark and Jordan's are particularly good, they've filmed Matt Edmondson and Molly King riding off on scooters ditching them. It's very funny.

Couple of points about the show last week:
Laughed hysterically at the "WAZZZUUUUUP" calls, they were absolutely brilliant. Possibly my favourite thing they've done for a while, so so funny.
Banged my head against a wall repeatedly at Maya Jama totally not getting Scott's "ice cream" story. Which in itself was quite funny.
    FACEPALM.

That's a good point. They do seem to be taking the piss a little bit, and Global and the Radiocentre can't be happy. I'm sure they'll be manufacturing a fuss about Radio 1's listeners being too old again before long.
It's also interesting because until last year the Bauer City 1 stations had a similar kind of music policy - top 40 with songs from the last 20 or so years mixed in. And their listening figures have been going through the floor for years.

Welcome along! Big fan of the name - which in itself is a massive WHOOO.
Adele's really grown on me recently actually, I always thought she was technically very good and a very capable pair of hands, as well as admiring the way she worked her way up through the commercial radio ranks, but never thought she was in the same league as Mills or Greg. She's still not quite up there, but the way she presented the Gregathlon shows, with so much warmth, empathy and good humour showed what a good broadcaster she is and changed my opinion of her for the better. And it goes without saying, a million times better than Maya Jama.
A Greg James breakfast show, with Chris Smith as the number two would just be perfection. As would a Mills breakfast show. It's a tragedy that the best two broadcasters on Radio 1 are stuck in afternoon slots because the current breakfast show presenter is there being a bed blocker so Ben Cooper can prove a point. I've always thought of Greg's podcast as a sampler of what a Greg James breakfast show would sound like, if it ever came into existence. I'm still hopeful, but it's probably not so likely. If it was going to happen, it probably would've happened in 2015.
    Laughed a lot at this.

Other than forgetting she’s on nights rather than mornings consistently - feel for her!

I’ve just had a thought as well, since Aled is now the head of programmes at R1 and he seems to like making shows into zoo formats eg, Charlie Sloth, Matt and Mollie, Alice and Dev, then maybe as Greg’s show would work very well as a zoo format with Greg, Chris, Chris and Grace because they all bounce off each other so well, he might get breakfast. It may be just a dream but Gregs Show is sounding better than ever right now.
Also, relating to that slightly, I’m not sure why Aled hasn’t changed Grimmys show at all really since he’s come in with changes happening to lots of other shows. I can only image that it’s because he’s coming off their soon. But again that maybe wishful thinking.
Adele on Saturday really showed up how rubbish Maya really is. I dread to think what she will be like on an entertainment show that’s less music based. Ooh that’s so vibes. Keep vibing. Ooh I can sing. Here’s Newsbeat with the wrong presenter. Ooh woops I’ve talked over the song

Nice piece in The Guardian adverting the teaching profession with Mills talking about his school days.

It's a similar story to the one he tells in Love You, Bye and any talks he gives if you've gone to see him, but the angle is different because it's talking about the impacts of his teachers and the like.

Wonder why Jordan isn't covering would have made sense to have him cover both shows

In my opinion, Jordan (or should I say Gordan!) sounded great today. Loved the chat with Grimmy before his show. He also handled the live lounge well, like he's done it a million times before!!

She is VERY good on yesterday's podcast. Scott does seem to be throwing over to his team for on-air responses more than what he used, which is definitely no bad thing at all!

Omg yay I'll look forward to it. I'm a few days behind though, so I guess I'll have to wait a bit longer to hear it But she IS the new Beccy, I'm telling you.

Alice flying solo on weekend breakfast for the next two weeks, then Dev is flying solo the week after.

I second the praise of Chris Sawyer - he is fantastic, possibly the best producer they've got.
On another note, I'm gonna point out something that will annoy you all and you'll never be able to un-notice it. Maya Jama has delusions that she can sing, and she seems to do it in every single link. She seems to think that in the absence of any real wit, singing is a way of being funny. It isn't. It's annoying.

Loving Sophie's recent appearances. The overeating thing was very funny. She reminds me of Beccy. They should get her on more. Weird that Scott seems to make his APs sit outside the studio now, unless it was just for effect on the radio. Otherwise I don't see why they'd do the whole thing through talkback instead of getting her on a mic.

The Gregathlon resumes TODAY! Last night after his radio show, Greg and his team made their way up to Moffat in Dumfries & Galloway where they were stranded last time and had to abandon the mission.
From today, he'll cycle from Moffat to Fort William and then climb Ben Nevis on Friday!
