  1. Another schedule change confirmed for next week is Annie Mac in for Fearne next Friday (25/4) from 10am
  2. A few schedule changes over the bank holiday weekend and into next week Friday 18 April 1600-1900: Dev in for Greg 1900-2100: B Traits in for Annie Mac 2100-2300: Danny Howard in for Pete Tong Saturday 19 & Sunday 20 April 1000-1300: Phil Taggart in for Matt Edmondson Monday 21 - Thursday 25 April 1900-2100: Huw Stephens in for Zane Lowe
  3. Chris Smith is firmly "one of the team". He often takes part in the "show outings" that take place from time to time along with Pippa and Travis.
  4. I fully agree with the last post. Chris Smith and Greg's partnership is like bread without butter, Scott without Chris Stark and Ant without Dec. Greg's show particularly between 1700-1830 are on form. They have me in stitches every time!
  5. I guess he finds it difficult trying to match the afternoon show's top quality with the constant reminders of Newsbeat. Personally I think there is too much news between 0630-0930. The only real break that Grimmy or Scott get is between 0830-0930. If you think about it, there is always 2 songs after the news which average 8 mins then 2 before the news which also average 8 mins leaving DJ's a similar amount of time to talk and do their features
  6. There has already been an example of this. Annie Mac is scheduled to sit in for Fearne today (Friday 11 April) from 10am.
  7. Other schedule over the next couple of weeks include: Monday 7 April 2100-2200: There is a BBC Radio 1 documentary all about the Scottish Independence referendum where Shona Summers meets 16 and 17 year olds eligible to vote and Jim Taylor (Newsbeat's politics reporter) oversees a debate on the subject. Both YES Scotland and Better Together will provide the debate. Saturday 12 April 1000-1300: Phil Taggart in for Matt Edmondson 1900-2100: DJ Target in for Mistajam 2300-0100: Cameo in for DJ Target Sunday 13 April 1900-2100: Phil presents the show solo Monday 14 April 1900-2100: Huw Stephens in for Zane Lowe (all week) 2200-0000: Phil Taggart presents the show solo
  8. Why has Scott been removed from Breakfast therefore switching Dev from Drivetime to cover meaning that we as a nation have to listen the intolerable sounds of Jameela Jamil doing what seems like another scripted show?
  9. Gemma is in for Fearne Monday to Wednesday this week (1000-1245) Rockwell is in for B Traits on Tuesday (0200-0400) Matt is in for Scott on Friday (1300-1600) B Traits is in for Annie Mac on Friday (1900-2100) Toddla T is in for Skream on Friday (2300-0100) Phil Taggart is in for Huw on Saturday (1300-1600)
  10. He's also an actor. He played Harry in Waterloo Rd, son of Head Teacher Karen.
  11. Scott is in for Jameela on the Official Chart this afternoon!
  12. Well done to him! His shows are sounding much better than this time last year. I don't agree with the comments saying that a new production team is needed as Matt, Fiona and Ian are doing just fine. I think they need to improve their features though. Just out of interest, when does Scott's contract expire? I really hope that R1 bosses have the sense to give him at least a two year extension!
  13. Scott appears to be presenting the Official Chart Update solo this afternoon. Jameela must still be "ill".
  14. Scott and Chris are sitting in for Grimmy tomorrow (28 Feb) as Grimmy heads off to Nairobi as part of Sport Relief .
  15. As far as I can remember, Laura left in July so we could see her return within the next few months!
  16. There's a few other schedule changes for this coming week also. Monday 24 February 2200 - Phil Taggart presents the show solo Wednesday 26 February 1900 - Daniel P Carter sits in for Zane. 2200 - Alice Levine presents the show solo Thursday 27 February 1300 - Matt Edmondson is in for Scott Friday 28 February 2300 - Toddla T is in for Skream
  17. I've never quite understood why the Breakfast show has so many people working on it. It has Nick (obviously), Matt, Fiona, Ian and Amy (the TA) plus a newsreader. It was exactly the same when Moyles hosted it. Moyles, Dave, Rachael, Aled, Matt and 2 newsreaders. I also don't understand Ian's role on the show. Most days he strolls in at 0830 except when Matt or Fiona are absent meaning he is there from 0630. Does he work behind the scenes on other daytime shows?
  18. The MailOnline have an article today claiming that the average age of listener at Radio 1 is still 32 despite the station making radical changes to lower the average age. Ben Cooper admits that it is concerning but essentially cannot "make people stop listening" This prompts the question of what more can be done to lower the average age?
  19. To be fair, Trevor Nelson is still at the station doing his Monday-Friday show at the same time as Fearne over on 1Xtra. I think he left his Saturday night show to have more free time as he does his daily 1Xtra show plus a soul based show on Wednesday nights on Radio 2.
  20. How typical of them to do this on a day when I can't watch/listen. If they could have done it on Monday or Tuesday, that would have been more than ideal!
  21. Fearne Cotton has just announced that Sara Cox will sit in for her ln Monday 17 February as she is filming for Celebrity Juice. She also announced that this show will be Sara's last EVER show on BBC Radio 1!
  22. Dev is in for Nick this morning providing emergency cover meaning he is doing a 6 hour shift. Dev suggested that Nick has tumny trouble hence his absence.
  23. I've just watched all of Greg's show and thought it was great! However, I'm gutted that I'll only be able to catch the last 10/15 mins of Scott's show tomorrow afternoon. I hope that the Radio 1 website will have some sort of highlights package in addition to The Scott Mills Daily.
  24. Listeners will hear Scott across 3 different shows this Tuesday (4 February). He will play an Access All Areas special of Call or Delete on The Breakfast Show from 8 then present his own show from 1-4 before finally taking part in Ask the Nation with Greg from 4:45
  25. I think Grimmy's listening figures will be in the region of around 5.7 million. His shows are sounding a lot better than this time last year but I think the public are still mourning the departure of Moyles and the team. Overall, I think R1 will be up on this time last year at around 11 million. The station are planning big things this year with AAA (Access All Areas) starting on Monday and running throughout the month of February and the Big Weekend in Glasgow in May. R2 will still be the biggest listened to station. On occasion, I have listened to Chris Evans and I really love the idea of his show: A mix of news and music to suit all the family. Whereas R1 only caters for "the kids" like me.
