I have to say, I'm really enjoying Annie's new show. Yes, it's strange not hearing Zane on the and there may be a few underwhelming moments in tonight's show but she is just finding her feet I guess. I am loving the 'Mellow Monday' feature. I did find the build up to the Hottest Record a bit of a let down but I know it will improve, she is, like many of people have said, is the best DJ for the job.

Part of the reason that Fearne is absent today is due to the fact that she will be appearing on This Morning on ITV with Eamonn and Ruth today at 12:15pm.

The website has been updated, Greg will cover for Clara today on the chart. It will be good hearing Greg do some cover presenting. I can't remember the last time he covered a show, I am tempted to say the request show (is that a WHOOOOO?!) but could be wrong. I wonder who will cover Clara who covers Fearne tomorrow if she is still unable to present? Probably Alice but I wouldn't rule out Annie Mac either. The 1am finish/10am start for Annie has been done before.

Just listening back to the podcast from yesterday when Scott and Chris covered breakfast. I loved the show, the Kathy from EastEnders, red eye and Snappy Snaps whooooooo's along with the waking up song mistiming were hilarious! Did anyone else notice that Scott crashed the vocal quite badly on Blonde & Melissa Steel track? It's not like Scott to be doing that at all.

Grimmy mentioned this morning that he is away this weekend hence why Scott is covering on Friday. Clara is covering Fearne's show on Monday.

A Facebook group has been set up campaigning for the Big Weekend to be held in Dundee this year. Seems unlikely as it was held in Glasgow last year but it could be anywhere!

Gemma pre-recorded her Christmas Day show a couple of weeks so that shouldn't be a problem.

So, didn't see this coming. It has been announced that Jameela will quit the Official Chart. She had a cancer scare recently and wants to do more with her life without the restriction of a weekly show. To this effect, she will take on a more flexible role within Radio 1 (much like when Beccy left Mills' show due to MS I suppose). Clara Amfo will take over from Sunday 25 January and will continue to present her weekend breakfast show.

Over the last few days, Scott has confirmed that he and Chris are doing the Christmas Day breakfast show. I'd also imagine they'd be doing the rest of the week like last year. Also, today (Saturday 29 November) Phil Taggart who is in for Alice said he was the 'Christmas temp of Radio 1' although no mention of particular shows just yet.

He might be using up the days off he would have had, had he not taken part in Strictly. Could be wrong though.

Scott has days off this Wednesday and Monday, Thursday and Friday next week with probably more to come with Dev sitting in next week and Matt sitting in this Wednesday.

Fearne picked a virus seemingly and so Alice Levine is covering tomorrow from 10am.

Jim Taylor (Politics Reporter) and Jonathan Richards (Duty Editor) have left now Newsbeat. Jim is now on 5Live producing Victoria Derbyshire's show and Jonathan is now part of the team at the World Service.

As stated above, Chris Smith has been on a video journalism course in Leicester for the past couple of weeks and will return on Monday 28 July so Nesta and Steffan have only been sub newsreaders. Frankie McCamley read the news from 1330-1630 yesterday as Steve Holden (main stand-in) was preparing for a big outside bulletin at 1745. I've actually always wondered how they select the newsreaders for the 1330 bulletin and overnight duties. Chris Moyles asked Maddie Lown that question a few years ago and she said it fell to 'whoever was last in the office as the rest were off to lunch'! I've noticed over the past couple of weeks that whoever does do the 1330 bulletin also does the 2200 bulletin and weekend news. Anna Collinson enjoyed that role last week.

Fearne has just announced that Greg will be not be on air today which is very unstandable considering what he has done over the last week. Fearne stated 'exhaustion' as the reason for his absence. Dev will sit in from 4pm

She's a producer there so I'd imagine her role is very similar to that on the radio. I may be thinking too much into this but Scott has just played his World Cup song he did with 5 Seconds of Summer to mark the end of the World Cup on Sunday and he said that this may be the last time that we ever hear it. Could this be a sign that an announcement about his departure from Radio 1 after 16 years could be revealed in the next few months? I really hope not, the show is sounding fabulous!

I know this isn't the right thread but it is about changes within the station. Scott has a new producer in the form of Will Foster who replaces Cara who is the producer at the Edinburgh Festival this year.

That'll be the reason why Greg is off today
