So yesterday I was parked in a motorway services listening to Greg James' show on Radio 1. It was Ten Minute Takeover time and I thought... "d'ya know what - will give it a try and tweet a request" - only ever bothered once in the past. And what do you know - it was selected! :-D Just wondered if anyone else has ever had a selection played?

If I recall right, they canned the late night and early morning ones when they moved to the current "Listen Watch Share" news jingles, which was around the time they started sharing all news bulletins (with the exception of Breakfast news - 6.30, 7, 7.30, 8 and 8.30) with 1xtra

She was found by Dan Mumford through a Children's TV audition that she did - he talks about it on the Earshot Review from June last year when they first launched the PureJingles stuff

I don't think anyone has mentioned Katie Bookliss, she is the one that does the jingles with Mike Wooller (and the one who shouts "THIS" is BBC Radio 1 in the newsbeat jingles

Seems liked a mixed reception...well let's give it a go...and if it doesn't take off then ah well. I have already designed a logo for it anyways... and before anyone shouts "Copyright!!!" BBCR1 is credited for any images used etc...

I get that, but one tiny section on a forum is IMO not enough. hence why I thought a dedicated site was the way to go. any other thoughts?

With so many of us clearly big fans of BBC Radio 1, and with fansites for only a couple of the DJs, I have been considering creating a BBC Radio 1 Fansite. Somewhere for fans of all things BBCR1 to go, chat, find news etc. What do we think? Was going to call it "Listen, Watch, Share..."

Well I must say I like the male voice, but the female one just doesn't sound quite right - especially on the Newsbeat imaging - far too much emphasis on THIS! Made me chuckle with Moyles taking the piss earlier! Also, got to give Chris Smith a hats off for his twitter branded entertainment news imaging earlier today! Bravo!
