  1. 1. Evening specialist DJs don't tend to say the time anyway. 2. Not all of Pete Tong's shows are prerecorded, but I have suspected that some are pre-recorded in recent weeks. The webcam tip usually is a good indication as you say.
  2. Is it me, or since the Green Day World Cup Weekenders competition, Radio 1 have played Green Day songs (bearing in mind they are all old tracks) much more than usual?
  3. Oh the irony of the 'Winter Winds'.
  4. A direct message to Scott in case he is reading. Scott, please play Dennis Ferrer - Hey Hey as promised. You missed it out earlier this week as well and it would be such a shame to miss it out again as it is brilliant! Thank you in advance.
  5. I am certain that it has been updated within the last week. I saw the old one only a few days ago.
  6. I am not surprised at all that Sabina has lost. The fact that Sabina couldn't come on tomorrow and that one of the answers in the last game was 'The same', which Sabina clearly wasn't likely to say are my reasons for this.
  7. I am going to mysteriously bet that the next song is Roll Deep - Good Times (after Dario G).
  8. Why do Radio 1 love Boys like Girls so much? They used to play The Great Escape all the time, even months after it was released, now it's Love Drunk and it looks like the same thing's happening... even though neither song charted in the top 40. Both songs are utter rubbish IMO.
  9. I get the impression that the average daytime DJ gets to pick 1 track of their own per hour of the show. I notice that Jo Whiley seems to pick a new tune she is loving about 40-45 minutes past the hour, every hour and Greg James obviously has 3 random tunes in his 3 hour show in the form of the 10 Minute Takeover. Scott doesn't seem to play 3 tracks of his choice every show, but he does have the Wonder Years and also every so often he chooses one such as the Revision Break and Riva Starr-I Was Drunk in recent weeks.
  10. To be honest, they should just stick with the original! It doesn't need vocals!
  11. The weekend anthem is not played on the Chart Show, but is played on the Request Show. All weekend daytime DJs (including the Switch team) get to pick a weekend anthem at some point, but I don't know the order. Bearing in mind there are 8 different DJs who get to choose a record (counting Annie & Nick as one), it will only be around once every 2 months that they will get to choose.
  12. It felt like Scott had the new version of the song loaded in then, judging by the extended conversation about the original version of the track, while they found it!
  13. Isn't this list exactly the same, except it is updated in real-time? I assume this is what you mean by 'slightly'. I believe that when songs are played from the computer and tagged, they automatically appear on Last FM (here's the RSS feed for it http://ws.audioscrobbler.com/1.0/user/bbcradio1/recenttracks.rss?limit=100, but you can access it from the website like the link you posted too) Then, once a show on Radio 1 has finished, the songs played between the times that the show has run are automatically added to the presenter's page. Unfortunately, sometimes tracks aren't tagged, which is annoying if you are trying to find out the name of the track!
  14. Just note 'abertom', that you are copying the computer tracklistings from the presenters pages. Not all of the tracks have been listed in this way, Deadmau5 - I Remember, being a track played by Fearne that isn't listed, to name just one.
  15. I have just realised probably why Radio 1 go on about it so much. All of the artists that perform don't get paid and so the reason they perform is for the extensive media coverage that Radio 1 give them. If Radio 1 say to an artist or their record label 'We won't pay you, but we will give you money-can't-buy free publicity on this huge radio station for the week before and after the event', then that probably attracts bigger and better artists to take part in the event. I expect the DJs themselves have little choice how much to talk about it.
  16. From the acts I saw when I was there on Saturday, Faithless were definitely the best. I was looking forward most to them anyway, but they were just awesome! Maxi Jazz is a very unique person and the atmosphere was just fantastic, especially during the anthems, such as God is a DJ, Insomnia and We Come 1.
  17. Nick Bright was stuck in Thailand because of the volcanic ash.
  18. I've been part of a panel giving views on Radio 1Xtra for just under a year and although I haven't been paid cash, there have been perks such as getting tickets for this event.
  19. I already have tickets, so I'll definitely be going on the Saturday! Unfortunately, it is a bit of a trek from Ipswich (5+ hours by train).
  20. I am very glad to see Judge Jules appear in the day, so that people can experience IMO the best specialist DJ on Radio 1 - let's hope he plays some of his brilliant late-night house and trance music and isn't dumbed-down (too much) for the daytime!
  21. I am very disappointed about this. I like the new format; I liked the old format, however The Bill is the only regular programme I watch on TV. Why should a programme that achieved a 20% ratings share last night be axed and replaced by one-off short dramas, which are nowhere near as good as a long-running programme you can really get into?
  22. Yes, this is being re-released, just added to the Radio 1 Playlist last week, as is 3OH3!'s 'Don't Trust Me'.
  23. Doesn't the 'What are you putting off?' question sound very similar to the style of question that used to feature in Nihal's weekend shows?
  24. Well if 6Music goes, that might not be such a bad idea! (Though the chances of it happening are so small...)
