Below are some general pics i have ore specific ones sorry for the quality of a couple i have better ones on another computer! Dam camera phones! do not like the dark! But you can see through the glass at the end is the main studio then you get a glance from the other side then a view of the wiring bays etc! Let me know if you need any more! Tom

No one is in the london studio's, all the lines are linked to the main control room in Broadcasting House, There is at least 2 lines per show, 1 main + 1 backup. The news team have separate studio inside R1 so all that is done from there. The plan incase the lines go down is that after a set amount of time below set levels from any broadcast passing through the control room. (all BBC radio output) there is a backup CD that will kick in thus meaning the only people required are the control room op's who are needed day to day anyway. as the lines come straight into the control room. Hi. I have been browsing for a while but this thread prompted me to register finally! The studio at big weekend is as has been said before BBC Radio Outside Broadcast's 'Sound 4' Its a relativly new truck which is there newest lorry. To clear up some confusion, there is a full Studio that is built in the back of the lorry including all music playout and jingles etc it is then linked to the main area where it is linked to the london control room via an ISDN connection and then broadcast live to radio 1. So there are no tech op's sitting in any studios doing anything that was coming directly from the site. So chris's show on friday was run in the same way a normal show is run but with dave on a high power radio link which is mixed in the main technical area of the truck.
