  1. Alice Levine is taking over the show at some point.
  2. Yeah heard a few new idents over the last couple of days on Scott's show. Good to keep things fresh sounding. There's a couple of Where It Begins idents that sound like re-sings of the regular Pure jingles. Not a fan of the others.
  3. Another extremely nerdy observation from listening to Alice in for Fearne today. I noticed throughout the show pretty much only one ID was used (the same one Fearne uses). Am I right in saying the producer programmes in all the songs and imaging?
  4. Two plays of the Hottest Record. I wonder if that will last.
  5. I don't know, if you read the interview she done for The Independent her roots are in indie music. Plus her old Sunday night show has always been the antidote to Friday night with a bit of a mixture. I think she's a great choice to take over Zane, the only one on Radio 1 at the moment that could possibly do it. And she has the advantage of already being a well-known and respected name in the industry. As for the lack of handover I imagine it was because it was her first show. And it wouldn't be Unofficial Mills without a mention of the jingles - I love them. Sounds very fresh and not quite as in your face as Zane's (which matched his show perfectly by the way)
  6. So tonight is Annie's first show, and it appears they're keeping the Hottest Record segment from Zane's show.
  7. I have noticed a lot of Tom Odell at the weekends, but that's no bad thing.
  8. I'm on board. Wow, this man will be missed on Radio 1.
  9. Bit of a mess-up at the start of Scott's show today. Probably not one of the best Radio 1 mistakes ever but fellow nerds might be interested.
  10. Yeah there seemed to be no doubt about it - looks like the chart will be moving. They've confirmed Clara's still doing it so I can only assume it'll be Fridays 10-12:45. The theorist in me wonders if she was picked for the chart because they knew it was going to be moving, and she'd already been lined up to take over Fearne... Also, and I don't think anyone's mentioned it, but I would assume The Official Chart Update will be moving to Mondays?
  11. Clara Amfo to take over. Would solve the issue of the Friday chart issue.
  12. I doubt they'd do a lot of promo recently for Clara Amfo's chart only to change the host to Greg. The alternative is Clara doing Fridays 4-7 and I REALLY can't see that happening. The other option is to announce the number 1 on Friday and do the rest of the chart on Sunday, but then it would make Sunday's show very redundant. Hopefully they count the chart Friday to Friday but publish it on a Sunday.
  13. I'm sure Chris Smith With The News would help with that.
  14. Which ones are currently in use? Never pay much attention to the beds normally.
  15. I don't mind Clara but the Chart sounded so much better today with Greg. Also a nice chance to hear him go into proper radio mode.
  16. Ahh load of nonsense. Scott's as slick as ever, especially after listening to Fearne "one jingle" Cotton.
  17. It looked to me like it was embargoed until midnight as all the articles went up bang on 12. Could be a number of reasons but it happens a lot with announcements such as this.
  18. Zane Lowe leaving, Annie Mac taking over in March. Phil Taggart's to take on the Sunday evening Musical Hot Water Bottle. http://m.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/31470124
  19. I would imagine it probably was a reference to Steve Wright, yes.
  20. I remember from the Moyles days they used to clip things the team had said, minus any music. So I think they can take any background music away.
  21. Do you know that for sure? I know someone edited the Wikipedia page to say that but that means nothing really.
  22. Another nerdy observation. The 5pm news update has the same intro as the rest of the bulletins, where previously it was different.
  23. Small observation - for the first time in many years the same ending (stab?) is now used on breakfast and daytime updates (excluding the ramp version at the start of the breakfast show)
  24. At the start of Alice's show I heard a jingle that was along the lines of "BBC Radio 1 - where it begins". Is this a new slogan I wonder?
  25. Interestingly it appears the package was composed by Dan Mumford, the previous Station Sound Manager who left just over a year ago to start his own firm.
