Despite the (I'm sure) temporary dodgyness of it at the moment I'm impressed. The new playlist page is a much needed improvement.

Ha, I thought I was the only one to notice that. It's been 'bugging' me since they launched in January. I originally thought it was Chris speaking when they were first played. I think it's just a trumpet or something.

I notice the jingle this morning said 'Radio 1' as opposed to 'BBC Radio 1' just like the olden days. I wonder.

I agree. 1Xtra plays one genre of music whilst Radio 1 plays a mixture. Cross-promoting 1Xtra is simply giving priority to one kind of music - something which Radio 1 avoids by use of the varied playlist. I'm pretty sure there's enough cross-promotion anyway on Saturday evenings.

I really love the new jingles. The out of news sounds fantastic. But I am going to miss the closing jingle - I was gutted to hear it go yesterday.

That sounded so unprofessional. There always seems to be problems at this time of year with news.

It's probably a bed produced by Radio 1 themselves.

They all look brilliant. Really great job. I like the consistent style - it was all a bit mish-mash before. Thank God the old layout sites are almost gone too.

I don't 'get' these new Radio 1 adverts. I'm just not sure of the concept really - not sure how it'll attract new listeners to the station.

I'm enjoying the show and will probably listen again - Charlie Brooker is hilarious. I hope they get a comedian every week.

I was wondering when they would change their jingles to have BBC in them. Sounds alright. Not sure it would fit into the cheesy song though.
