  1. Anyone heard the 'New Sound of BBC Radio 1' promo? Sounding extremely likely we'll hear the new package on 2nd April.
  2. I have noticed that the 'usual' voiceovers are appearing less and less on new material, so it does seem likely the voices on the Official Chart may well appear across the board soon. Speaking of the chart, does anyone know who does the new imaging?
  3. I wonder what this means for breakfast cover when Chris is on holiday. Could be their chance to trial Greg at breakfast?
  4. I did sense a bit of sarcasm in his tweet last night.
  5. Glad to see Dance Anthems back. I've always thought they needed a more mainstream dance show, particularly on a Saturday. Shame the 1Xtra simulcast is continuing though.
  6. Ohh, never expected this. I wonder how Scott will feel about basically being demoted...
  7. I hope it's not true. But if it is, I can see Grimmy taking over 4-7pm. He's covered the show quite often recently and has actually been quite a good listen.
  8. I think it's safe to assume the new site will closely resemble the nice Teen Awards and Big Weekend pages. Still can't get used to the fragmented Radio 1 logo though - I understand that they don't want two BBC logos in close proximity, but it makes the branding look like completely different from what everyone's used to. It's the same with the rest of BBC Online.
  9. From BBC News: 'Radio 1 has 120,000 fewer listeners compared to this time last year. Its breakfast show, hosted by Chris Moyles, now attracts 7.4 million listeners every week - down from 7.5 million in the first three months of 2011 and 7.7 million last year. Sister station BBC Radio 1Xtra has reached its highest ever figures, with nearly a million people listening every week.' http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-14389081
  10. Wow, that's excellent news. At least ten years on the Radio 1 breakfast show is incredible.
  11. I think it was the 6:30 entertainment news on Tuesday
  12. I didn't spot any difference when listening on the iPlayer earlier. Although for some reason the jingles do sound sped up when I listen just as I've woken up. Funny that.
  13. Just had a listen to 1xtra. It seems their jingles are pretty much the same (including the Listen, Watch Share tagline) and have even adopted the Newsbeat name.
  14. What does everyone think then? I'm actually quite impressed - it's a step in a completely different direction and I like.
  15. Interesting that they're the company behind the latest chart jingles. It doesn't look like they update their website vigorously, so bad news for fellow jingle geeks like myself.
  16. Aled said on The Chris Moyles Show this morning that new news jingles are to launch on Monday. They talk about them at about 26:40 and then after the news at 7:00. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b011j0pc/The_Chris_Moyles_Show_Tuesday_We_Talk_To_Westwood_In_Afghanistan/ Similar format and no logo apparently.
  17. Vernon Kay and Scott Mills are to host BBC Radio 1's live coverage of the Royal Wedding next month, with Fearne Cotton and Edith Bowman joining BBC One's coverage. http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2011/mar/26/royal-wedding-bbc-coverage
  18. Just listened to 1xtra who were simulcasting the bulletin (here). They played the whole thing out in full.
  19. It feels like 2000 all over again. Not complaining though - she was great with the rest of the team last month.
  20. The only things Music4 did were the 1tros, Newsbeat and Moyles. They haven't done a full Radio 1 package for about 8 years.
  21. http://1maging.com/ Although you need a username and password to access it apparently.
  22. Aled on Twitter: I wonder who'll be on in Vernon's place...
