  1. If the closure of 6music leads to more rock and less RnB/Pop being played on Radio 1, that's a good thing. Sad to see 6music go, though...
  2. It's a phone-in show, it can hardly be voicetracked...
  3. You seem to be a bit depressed today? Just to explain, I realised too late (like, yesterday after my bet on yorkshire) that there was an article hinting to Bangor. Considering the newspapers were quite right last year, one could well be quite certain it would be Bangor. I just would have liked it to go to Yorkshire, and I still think North Wales isn't a natural location to host such an event...in the middle of nowhere...
  4. Heaven forbid. As for Whiley and Bowman, first they might have other things to do and can't just come in on short notice, and second, I think cover DJs should be new talents rather than those that are already established. And how would they feel if they got a call anyway? Not good enough for a regular weekday show, but good enough as a cover presenter? Mmh.What I don't get is why Reggie isn't covering. His shows are good since Fearne isn't ther any more. And what about Nihal?
  5. Yorkshire, then? Well he isn't necessarily already there.
  6. There is some truth in it. I read about Bangor in a facebook update about a completely different topic just a week ago and thought it was a place in India...
  7. Sorry? Cardiff is about the southernmost place in Wales I can think of^^
  8. Well Cardiff isn't exactly North Wales Someone tell your sources I'd lose a lot of money if it wasn't Yorkshire. Oh right, I wouldn't. North Wales would be a logical place for this year's Big Weekend, as would be the North East. R1BW2011 Yorkshire, then.
  9. My money is on the Yorkshire area... Edit: And I put even more money on Yorkshire, and a huge a mount on the north-east in general...
  10. Hello everyone. Haven't been here for ages. How's everyone doing?
  11. entertainment: 1. Mills 2. Moyles 3. Whiley 4. Zane (or, Lowe, to stick with surnames ) 5. Cox music: 1. Huw Stephens 2. Zane 3. Whiley 4. Grimshaw 5. Mike Davies And an extra award goes to Westwood at 1Xtra. His style is a real belter.
  12. I don't know what to make out of this (that's his former AP), but Greg's figures don't seem to be too bad...
  13. The thing with Fearne is she never means anything. Apart from that, this is clearly a thing you should avoid saying on the BBC. That's just on the edge towards a racist comment.
  14. I'd like to have some good news about Radio 1 again... Deacon is annoying. Childish, as many of you already said. Boring, silly. Don't like that. Surgery in an hour seems alright. Switch at 10 is a bit late, considering it is 11 in Germany, so I'll hardly be able to listen. But I quite liked Annie and Nick (not when they where alone, but as a duo they are really good...) I'm wondering what Radio 1 will look like in five years when Deacon and Edmondson may be core parts of the Radio 1 schedule. 6music or Radio 2, here I come...
  15. Hello, welcome and good luck. Nice to see you here
  16. Well Greg did a really good job presenting that documentary. But on the down side a young presenter told a young audience "never mind all the experts, binge drinking is normal, it's fun and it's nice to go on a booze trip". Well do whatever you want to, but there are not many more stupid things to do than binge drinking. Long term effects are just too serious. Where was the criticism, apart from the presenter saying "I'll give it a miss" to this weird oxygen-alcohol thing?
  17. I don't really like pre-recorded radio, so I don't listen to twelve hours of on-tape-Moyles, but to shows that have been live yesterday. Doesn't really make sense, does it? But it feels better
  18. Hahaha...I always thought Germans had a terrible taste of music. But this top ten is quite simply...rubbish. I don't like one single track out of those. No offense btw. I was just a bit surprised by this Edit: Might this list be any different if you counted illegally downloaded tracks? I'd like to think so...
  19. Is Internet Karen on twitter? And what about Internet Sam two?
  20. Hello everyone. Let's see how the Chappers-story develops. Who's here?
  21. Haha. Okay. Shame that Chappers is leaving, the show won't be the same without him. I wonder what the original plan was and how Beccy's tweet is going to change that. Whan did they plan to reveal that Chappers is leaving? Was anything special planned? And what are they going to do now with the news already out? Anounce it on today's show? Keep quiet?
  22. It is a really nice browser and stuff, but everything - really everything you do on the internet is sent and stored by google. i'm not worried generelly about google saving personal information, but i don't want them to know everything. Also, there are nice add-ons for firefox that block cokkies, ads, flash and scripts if you do not allow them. good for safety...
  23. Well how many Internet Sams are there on Radio 1? Three? (I know only two of them are actually called Sam). There's loads of work to do for a good website. Graphics, Stylesheets, Flash and JavaScript. Three people would need quite a while to create and implement a new design for R1's website. There are about 40 shows, each of them has a minisite and a few sub-sites. You really need assistance. And if there is no BBC-wide web developing departement, you get an agency from outside to do it. Edit: but if they chose to do so, than please put a bit more effort in the design. It doesn't look that special...
  24. First, because there was simply no free space/too many DJs. All the Ladies coming back from maternity leave needed a show (Edith did the lie-in for a while, until Coxy took over; her old show was earlier given to Nihal). Second, because they were worse than Fearne and Reggie. Which was the worst combo on Radio 1. The latter being my opinion
