  1. Fair enough I suppose, it would've been nice to seem them extend it so Mistajam could be part of it as well though!
  2. I think it's good. Like Jo said herself he feels like the natural successor to her in terms of being a specialist - daytime crossover DJ. He'll probably (hopefully) bring a similar show to daytime in the future.
  3. Yeh, it's unlikely to be the verses as Zane's doing 'Last show on earth' on his Thursday show now as ryd mentioned. You might have heard the outdoor stage line up at the big weekend Viv? Where It's Zane V Fearne and Moyles V Westwood Among other acts.
  4. Let's hope 6music or Absolute decide to do a (cliche) 'wedding free' promotion.
  5. Phase 1 of Project Grimmy Breakfast begins Odd that they haven't got Annie with him and someone else on at night though.
  6. I guess he's going to NZ like he usually does at the start of the year? He didn't this year, of course, as he was taking part in the specialist takeover. I'm Slightly disappointed that they haven't got guest hosts like they usually do though.
  7. The point is that people not famous for stand-up take part. Having Tom Deacon on it would be a little like having Adele on 'Comic Relief does Fame Academy'. He could have been Dev's mentor though I suppose.
  8. We can only speculate for now but I very much doubt he'll be playing mainstream pop in that slot, it would be baffling. Maybe it will be a comedy show?
  9. Really happy for Jo and it's great to see her getting a weekday slot again, even if it does clash with Zane, Jam and Riley. I think Huw is great but, probably rather selfishly of me, I'd rather he be promoted more as a specialist DJ than a daytime presenter. Also Good luck to Matt in his new slot.
  10. Wednesdays between 9pm and 10pm and then again between midnight and 2am.
  11. Heart carry the Big Top 40 Show. It is based on itunes sales only.
  12. I just thought it would be nice to show appreciation for Dev who's really developed as a broadcaster and made the early breakfast show a damn good listen! He's friendly, charming and witty, he also seems to have a good knowledge and interest in music His humour is dry, sarcastic and honest, a bit like Scott's actually. I hope we hear more of Dev in daytime soon, he sounds effortlessly natural. Dare I say that he sounds like he could be bigger than Greg? P.S If anyone gets a chance; listen to this morning's show at around 30mins in where Dev tells Duncan Crawford "You're my 4th favourite newsreader"
  13. Wasn't expecting Britney's Crimbo song to be good but that was Bril! It should be a classic
  14. Sounds good One question from the article though, why does radio1 launch and re-launch the BBC Introducing song in the playlist "initiative" every few months?
  15. Glad to see the sunday repeat zone go, there'll be another show between 2 and 4 I guess? Strange that there's no England show though, I can see a few moans about that :S Good luck to Bethan and Vic in the future
  16. Great for Tom to be getting the chance to cover earlies. Nice to see Dev in for Greg too, he really seemed to take to feet up friday last time around
  17. I don't get the love for Matt either. He sounds like a wannabe Simon Amstell. Also, it seems to me like he isn't a 'radio natural' he sounds like a tv presenter on the radio, moreso than Fearne. He's fine when he's with someone else (Fearne, caller, a guest) but doing links on his own I feel like he's talking at me not to me. Although, I haven't listened to him in a while, he might have improved. I highly rate Tom Deacon though I'd fancy him as the 'next big thing' on radio 1. Although that would probably mean him ditching Switch and stand-up, would he do that?
  18. Nice Korean politics joke from Scott there . Who says Radio1 is dumbing down?
  19. Nah. If they really did want to split 10-4 into 3 slots, I'd put Grimmy 10-12 or 12-14 and put Huw 22-00
  20. I don't see what you're getting at, sorry. Both Dizzee Rascal and Tinchy Stryder have both grown up in the UK and make music from a genre which has it's routes firmly in the UK.
  21. Yeah, but I personally feel that there's a lot of focus on Jamaican reggae already. How often do you hear Sri Lankan or Ghanaian music on UK radio? I'd just like something a bit more 'new' or 'random' I suppose.
  22. Sounds good I always enjoy these. Sending Robbo Ranx to Jamaica is a little obvious though isn't it?
