    Stand Up Comedy

Very funny guy, seen him live twice and if work allows it I'll be investigating going to see him next time he's playing nearby. Definitly up with the top comics in the UK right now, very pleased to say I've seen a fair few of them as well.
  2. I refer you to this which you said merely 2 sentences previously.....
  3. Off work till Tuesday, and for a change I actually have something planned for each day I'm off so it won't be time wasted.
  4. A year off would certainly be nice, but I dunno if I could put up with a kid under my feet for the further 15.
  5. Is anyone else having problems accessing the sites to get the podcasts? I've tried both the Moyles and the Mills ones but I get Error 404 or some nonsense like that. Not too sure how else to go about downloading them as I point blank refuse to use any iWank products or programs on my computer.
  6. And that video is the reason people in Britain should be allowed to carry a gun, so we can deal with the likes of him........ Bearing in mind this is a family forum (kinda), all I shall say is I was left in no doubt as to why she was so tired, positions, and just how sore her legs were as a result lol
  7. Don't you just hate it when you have a friend and they change when they get into a relationship? I have a friend, or had, who knows, who I used to speak to all the time. Anything they wanted to speak about and I'd usually hear about it, be it work or friends or their love life, sometimes going into unusually specific details about the love life infact. So anyways they met someone and of course I heard all about them and how stunning they were (although personally I didn't see it whatsoever but I kept my mouth shut). This developed into what is now a long term reationship and it seems they are rarely apart. In the last 7 months I've seen them just once, now I know this is partly down to me now working a lot more hours in a week than I used to but I've tried to make the effort to keep in touch with them when I could. I admit when I was with my last girlfriend I accidently drifted apart from a lot of my friends so some would say that this is karma, but it really pisses me off when I can see that they're still making the effort to go and see others who live elsewhere yet I'm only 15 minutes away and nothing, we're even on the same bloody bus route! When I was last off work I asked if they wanted a catch up and got a bit of a vague response about possibly being off one day but no plans were made. A few days later I was asked what I was doing one day and I said I was working but would have been free after work, but nope they were only seeing if I'd be able to give the pair of them a lift to the airport as they were going on holiday. Sorry about the long speech, seems I'm unable to do a shorter version whenever I want a moan about something.....
  8. Stress. On top of the flat business I've got a couple of worries at work. The more I stress the more tired i get, the more likely I am to not pay full attention which in turn leads to worries, stress and tiredness. I also need sleep, Going from a week of back shift to earlies with only one day off in between has left me absolutely shattered. Having some very bizarre thing going on in my mind, and my head is a complete mess at the moment.

  10. Thats true, but I'd be a bit wary about letting a stranger live with me. I told my brother about it incase he was moving back down here after uni and didn't want to go back to living with Mum and Dad but he said he's pretty sure he'll be stayig in Aberdeen if he can find work. Bit of a shame really as we get on very well and would be ideally suited as neither of us has any time for messy people. I've got a friend I'm gonna tell about it as well although I have a feeling if he was to move out of the parents it would be into his girlfriends place, no harm in mentioning it though. I think getting a share of a really nice house/flat for about £400 (rent, gas, electricity, council tax, internet all included) is a pretty good looking offer to be honest.

  12. Flatmate told me the other day that he might be moving back in with his mum for a bit when the minimum lease on this place is up. Glad he's given me some time to think about what I'll do though. I basically have 2 choices, 1 is to take this place on myself and keep an ear out for anyone wanting a room, or I can look around for a 1 bedroom place although I think I'd be struggling to find a place as nice as this for much less than I'd be paying here, and this is in an ideal location for me as well.

    MDNA !!

Would that be hot (water bottle), hip (replacement) and here (ing aid)? Ok so I'm struggling with the last one but you get the drift
  14. As much as its not really right, it also has a lot to do with how good a relationship you have with the bosses. At my previous job I had a superb relationship with my department manager so I was ever so slightly more able to get away with things. For a while the company went completely OTT on customer service and me and 1 of my colleagues were posting messages to eachother with piss take comments and questions. It came up in conversation one day with the department manager who said she'd seen it, and although she wasn't gonna bother speaking to either of us about it she did say to be careful how close to the wind we were getting, although she did find it funny when she read them.

Pipe down you! This sort of post just fuels Viv
  16. I really don't agree with this Facebook and work business. Ok so people shouldn't go posting stuff that could reflect badly on their work and have an affect on it but at the same time they shouldn't feel like they can't express a personal opinion on something. Someone I was once friends with got themselves into bother with what was initially an innocent throwaway remark about their shift pattern and how it meant they weren't likely to be able to go and see a film before it stopped showing at the cinema. A couple of days later he was called into the office about it as the manager wanted a word with him. Stupidly he got drunk that night and wrote something about people spying, he didn't make specifics about who it was but from what I'm told it was fairly obvious who and what it was about and he removed it very shortly after. However someone else spotted it, grassed on him and he was suspended pending a disciplinary. Ultimately he resigned as it wasn't something he was prepared to be fired over but it goes to show that a silly thing can be blown out of all proportion. Common sense really ought to be used on both the employer and employee's side where things like social networking is concerned. Most people are perfectly capable of distinguishing between something which is clearly a personal opinion and something which is being stated to be the opinion of their employer. Even though I don't have anyone from work on mine I'm still careful about what goes up as I know someone whose dad and brother are both drivers in another depot. I've no doubt nothing would come of it, but obviously if they can see it then who knows who else could.

Just because something sells well doesn't mean its good, just people get sucked into the hype
  18. Well some people are into strange things Oh come on, it wasn't that bad!

I'd rather have MRSA Said it before and I'll say it again. Over-rated and past it.
  20. Cafe Honking? Is this a new chain we can expect to see popping up around the country over the next year?

    Mothers Day

I didn't know that specifically, but I do know that not all countries have it on the same day. I may be wrong but I'm sure a Canadian girl I have on Facebook wrote something about mothers day last year and ours had long since passed by that point.
  22. You live in the west, I'm surpised they've got anything open at all if they're worried about people getting up to things they shouldn't be
  23. Increasing aperture is heading into DSLR territory isn't it? I may be wrong but I wouldn't have thought she'd have one of those out walking/climbing. I agree with what you say though, and Viv even if its a basic point and shoot type then you can still play about with the settings to get better results

    Mothers Day

Not only did I get away with the alternative card, she thought it was really funny.

    Mothers Day

Right so what angle did everyone take with Mothers Day this year? Had to do something so I got a bunch of flowers but I don't see any point in these sort of "days" Fortunately Mum knows this which is why I'm pretty sure I'll get away with my slightly inappropriate card. Its actually a rude/funny birthday card with the happy birthday bit covered up and an explanation written underneath of why its not a more traditonal one.
