  1. Please enlighten us as to Salmond's great masterplans to how things will be SO improved if Scotland is made independent?

You have still yet to do this and have spent most of this thread blaming Cameron for things that aren't all entirely down to him (some things caused by previous governments and other entities and even COUNTRIES entirely). Even if it is true he has contributed to making situations worse (I can't stand the guy either for the record).

We need to know what would be better in a 'self-preserving' Scotland and actual counters to the points that have been made (which you have failed to address like 99% of, even with your 'Killer').

No point continuing the thread if you can't do this one little thing.

Agreed. I'm sorry Viv, I'm afraid you or rather Salmond have failed to do this, which is why this thread is so frustrating, and rather pointless. Bit like running around in ever decreasing circles really, until anything concrete is presented.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I do seem to recall that you went out canvassing for the Lib Dems relatively recently? They are second on the list of things I don't like very much after Cameron, and are partially responsible for the British Govt. you're criticising.

  2. Like the monarchy had a say in the steward supplier? Naïve to suggest they did.

Good point. Was going to post something along these lines on The Queen Thread. It is a disgraceful situation, but a private company was simply hired to deal with stewards. I don't think that the fact that they turned out to be dealers in slave labour should have any connection to the Royal family.

This company have been well and truly named and shamed in The Guardian, and I wouldn't imagine they'll be getting many contracts in the forseeable future. Hopefully they're being investigated.

  3. This topic has just hit the 1,000 hits mark. Get in there !! Lots of potential voters (for the right party - SNP) hopefully.

    *releases fireworks*

www.yesscotland.net - hopefully Salmond will appear a LOT more on TV, to answer a LOT of questions coming up, and clarify his position ... I am sure he will do.

Not every hit on here necessarily guarantees a vote.

Just realised... every political party likes choons to back it up, don't they!!

Just found one... click on the link !! :hahaha: http://youtu.be/3GwjfUFyY6M

Mind you, Labour once had "The Only Way Is Up", didn't they?!? Hmmm

Think it was 'Things Can Only Get Better', by DReam, with Prof Brian Cox on keyboards no less.

  4. Yup, Claude will be on too. Received this tweet last Wed. when I was asking about Margaret.: The Apprentice @Twitprentice

"Yes, @KingTutsWWH I can confirm Margaret Mountford will be back for the interview stages, but so will Claude...... #twitprentice"

He is evil! *rubs hands together with glee*. Wonder if any of them were stupid enough to lie on their CV...

  5. Margaret Mountford is on tonight! Frankly feeling rather over excited about this. I love her. Even if you haven't watched much of the series, her grilling of the candidates will provide fantastic entertainment.

  6. I think I was given Bridesmaids for my last birthday. We both love Chris O'Dowd from the IT Crowd (fantastic programme), but weren't at all keen on this. Didn't like Napoleon Dynamite much either. So what do we know?

    Never seen Anchorman either!!!!! Eeek!

What rocks? Relatively long weekend. Boyf has to work on Tues though. Pfft.

  7. I do care, but interestingly not a single Scot I know in real life or online is in favour of Scottish independence, apart from one obviously. I know quite a few Scots, and have a huge love of the country having studied in Glasgow for four years, plus my mum's guardian was a Dr McAllister from Edinburgh.

Not that this qualifies me to say what should or shouldn't happen. I'd just like to point out that the concensus of opinion between my friends appears to be that independence would immeasurably weaken Scotland. This bothers me.

Informative article, especially regarding the fact that should Scotland become independent, they'd need to build a firmer allegiance with Europe. Not such a good plan. Much as I originally supported the Euro, I realise I may have been wrong on this one.:

The following Wiki bit also suggests, amongst other things that Scotland is already benefitting from the revenue from their oil (see Reality of the Claim).:

I can completely understand that Scottish people may well feel humiliated by the current Government, so do I! But I didn't vote them in. We all have a vote. I notice Scotland is mainly Labour, there are around four Tory voting areas, a few Lib Dem bits, and only two or three SNP parts. Doesn't this say something?

  8. I didn't particularly enjoy the guests this morning. Barely heard a word from Tom jones, mind you he didn't say much on Graham Norton the other day either. We only watched The Voice until they stopped doing the turny around chair bit, after that it all became standard formulaic X Factor stuff.

I too am looking forward to Gary Barlow (CBE, MBE, OBE, Sir? ;)) tomorrow.

PS. Wretch 32 (silly name) was an excellent guest. Very inspiring.

  9. Here's a link to the first part for you. The next parts should follow.:

I seem to recall Scott spent most of the episode pointing the camera up his nose.:D

  10. Wonder if Madonna ever regrets Like a Virgin? ;)

I've very much enjoyed the Show and Tell part of the show this week. Yesterday's was hilarious. Go look it up if you missed it. Yes it is pretty immature, as is Innuendo Bingo, but I think they both work.

Don't agree that there has been less talk and more music. Actually judging by the sheer quantity of talk, I reckon TOTDS has been working his backside off!

  11. Nice thread. There are some absolute beauties up there. Good taste people of UM. Groove Armada and Zero Seven are two of my most favourite things ever. Such good songs. Might pop up a few for now. Warning: Slightly eclectic taste. May be back too.

    This is pretty.

The following is lovely, and was recommended to me by @quantick on Twitter when I wanted to listen to The Smiths. He doesn't like them very much at all, so every time I threaten to listen to them he has to 'save me' with a new track or two.

This is cosy snuggly song. Always chills me out, even though the lyrics aren't so happy.

  12. Agreed. Didn't find this particularly entertaining either. I'm afraid I'd put the fault mainly down to Moyles and Dave. Rather dopey\lazy (perhaps trying to be 'edgy') script\questioning. Le Blanc has come across very well in all the other interviews I've seen. Hmm.

Don't let it put you off having a look at Episodes though. 11 May BBC2 10pm.

  13. Yes he is plugging a new series of Episodes.

I like Friends in small doses, but am disconcerted by the diehard fans who'll do a day's Friends marathon. Weirdos.

Anyway Episodes is rather funny and pretty dark, not cloying in the slightest. I think you should give it a try Viv.
