This is the 'bed' for the Oh What's Occuring feature. Strictly speaking he should keep the bed at the same level, however sometimes it does sound better to increase or decrease the sound level for theatre, tension or (as i suspect in his case) habit!

My car said Radio 1 on my way home from work about 30 mins ago.

I listened to Danny Howards first Dance Anthems show on Saturday. I was just leaving work when it started and i lve over an hour away from work so i got a good listen. when it started i thought it was going to be great as the imaging on the first song was good. However, it stopped there and the show, for me, felt like a real disappointment. there is soooo much more that could have been done to make it sound more upbeat. instead it just sounded like a normal daytime show with a few funky tracks dropped in. That said, the guy himself sounded good and i can definitely see him staying at R1 for some time or at least making a name for himself.

Yes i suspect it probably does and the way they made individual Ra-Di- O stuff and allowed R1 to make their own stuff was a great idea. ike you say maybe it was too commercial, either way it didn't suit m(even if i did find my self singig along to them in the car!)

Ah! This i have no doubt is the reason. Probably something to do with contracting. Glad PTM went though, their R1 stuff was rubbish

aha! Excellent! Well Done! These sound great, much better than that stuff from PTM! We never really heard much from them after the initial stuff, wonder whether R1 fell out with them? They also only lasted about 2 years

Unfortunatly couldn't listen to any of R1 during today. Only just caught the end of 5.45 Newsbeat and the 10 minute takeover (thought he would've binned that one off tbh!) sounding good so far though!

So, tomorrow is the launch for 'The new sound of Radio 1' Lets hope it is a complete over haul including new Newsbeat imaging as well as DJ stuff. We'll see!

Yes i heard this yesterday on Scotts show (i think it was!) It sounds like it will be good, although i cant say im convinced by the female voice at teh moment even though she has already been featured on Radio 1 for quite some time

Thought it was about time Holly and David went. I have never really liked David but Holly is good. At last, a new station imaging package, that PTM stuff is horrific!

I've heard the new voiceovers on the chart. The girl is also used on what used to be BBC switch and i'm sure its the guy who is voicing the current Hackney trails and the like. I was hoping to post a few clips but my computer is failing miserably tonight. New Voiceovers are also started on teh Chrt Show a few weeks before they are intoduced in the main schedule if i am right in remembering? The girl is also on the new Chart Show trail and near the end she says Listen, watch, share. They wouldn't commission her to say that just for a trail surely? If this is the case i think they will be in place in April for the new schedule.

Grr, the more i think about this, the more i get annoyed. As for Cairney, i quite like her but she's got a fantastic face for Radio, i've just seen a pic of Greg 'arrogant' James, Jameela and Cairney on the Newsbeat pages
