Jono reacted to R1Fan1 in When does Jordan North start on Capital?
I think that’s April 2024, given that’s a Wednesday.

Jono got a reaction from Fran in Radio 1 socials
I really liked how Global app allow for video streaming when listening to stations like Capital. They said you could go to the app to see their new breakfast show presenter when Jordan was announced.
A good way to get more people using their app. I wonder if Sounds would consider it.

Ah you cynics. If it was that orchestrated they'd not have stood at a finish line waiting for her last night only for her to arrive just as Newsbeat started.

Jono reacted to callspy in Producer Chris Sawyer is Leaving
Hats off to Chris for leaving a challenge for Greg. To plan that out was great detailing and proves what a talented guy he is. The post he posted on Instagram also links into it which is great to. There is loyalty to Greg there so I don't think he's joining Capital. Persephonica was looking for an 'experienced entertainment producer' a few months ago. I wonder if this is where Chris might be heading?

Jono got a reaction from Fran in Mollie King's Comic Relief challenge
I thought Comic Relief did the dirty on Mollie last night. She'd raised more than £1.1m and yet she was one of the last people on the live show before the 10 o'clock news - hardly prime time and quite late considering she started at 4am. She'd had to rush back from Hull to Salford after her challenge too. It made her seem insignificant.
She was on for about two minutes, the highlights montage was pretty uncomprehensive and even the footage of her crossing the finish line was vertical video from social media that looked really grainy. The BBC had access to plenty of footage from local telly and other sources they could have used. I seem to recall they made much more of a thing about Scott and Chris doing the lolathon.
Thank goodness Radio 1 made a big fuss.

These words of wisdom really resonated with me as somebody who'd love to still get to Radio 1. He really has been a big asset to the breakfast show.

Coincidentally his comments on Friday didn't sound like somebody who wants to do more breakfast radio after Greg's show!

The truck is here anyway! To be fair they've got a fair bit of mileage out of this mobile studio.
She has to do some telly tonight so won't be spending too long in Hull when she arrives.

Oh yeah you've got to make good radio from it, I appreciate that point.

Jono got a reaction from AndyK77 in General Bauer Radio UK / Planet Radio / Rayo talk.
The future of digital terrestrial seems to involve guides that point people to streaming anyway, and that doesn't seem far down the line. Look at the mass exodus of music channels for example.

Jono reacted to onlyME in Why is Scott hardly ever on his own programme?
Not sure he's off anymore than any other presenter. I can think of many more that have more time off like Rylan.
Scott is a key figurehead at BBC and does a lot of other things - the Eurovision stuff, the Country countdown, Bank Holiday specials.
The exception seems to be the time off for his wedding which I don't think people can begrudge.
Seems a little strange to join a Scott Mills fsnsite to slag off him and other presenters coincidentally.

Jono reacted to xxladybarefootxx in Going Home with Vick, Katie and Jamie
Oh I suppose I want to add to what I just said about not minding Jamie and being okay with him getting the drive slot - I would feel completely differently if it had been Katie joining Vick, with Jamie as the last minute third host. If that had happened then I would feel annoyed at an unnecesary celebrity hire had been brought in - I hated the Maya Jama - Scott -Chris Friday situation when that was going on. I do think Jamie is better than Maya was though, in many ways.
