  1. Have been reading this all week. She's such a brave woman. Just got to the chapter where she explains why she missed Scott's leaving event at Radio 1. Worth a read overall.
  2. Think it's a lot more fun when they don't have guests and have to find ideas to fill a show. Them doing some calming traffic reports around the most stressful part of the day. I wonder if there's more they could do with that - 8.15am being the most stressful time. Anyway, I think that of most radio shows, I'd rather hear the creativity than an overhyped celebrity. Greg had it right yesterday with Tom Allen, he wasn't really just there to promote The Apprentice, but to do comedy too.
  3. Makes sense, I always assumed they all went for 1D members regardless.
  4. Bit of a scoop getting an exclusive interview with Zayn, I wonder why he decided not to do Radio 1 too?
  5. Not sure what it really means, but Scott Mills is one of the least distracting DJs according to new research. https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/cars/article-13283609/Most-distracting-radio-podcast-hosts-driving-revealed-Mark-Wright-Chris-Evans-list.html It says Radio 1 though, which is not only inaccurate, but also I can only imagine it applying to his Radio 2 show. How many sounds effects did he used to play on Radio 1, ha.
  6. I assume it's meant to appeal to a TikTok generation
  7. I mean it's different. Could see it getting annoying after a while though.
  8. I think that's a good move. Get some of the best hits from under your belt to ease people in. Very Zane Lowe-esque.
  9. Felt awkward to start the programme with Newsbeat talking about where they discover new music - and most people saying TikTok. Nice throwbacks to Zane Lowe, Annie Mac and Clara Amfo at the start of the show.
  10. Lovely to see Adele hyping up Sam and Danni in Cardiff today on Instagram.
  11. None of us have a personal line to make that happen. Sorry Yolanda.
  12. Ah but aren't Radio 1 guilty of just coming up with 'off the cuff' ideas that have taken months of planning? Often some of Scott's best ideas were - let's read Laura's Diary etc. Not that this is in the same league!
  13. Capital Radio's breakfast presenters have been really chuffed with the lovely comments you've left about the programme, and they want to give something back. So next week they've offered to come on the forums and answer some of your questions. Get your thinking caps on and post your questions for Chris and Jordan here. And who knows, they might rope Sian into it too. They'll have the licence to answer what they want, and I'm sure you have plenty of questions!
  14. Loved Colin's evening show, was over too soon, in my opinion.
  15. It was very much speculated on here, and now strong suggestion in the papers that it's why he was missing for five weeks. https://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/bbc-celebrity-race-across-world-32556074
  16. Jordan has briefly touched on him leaving Radio 1 here. https://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/jordan-north-capital-radio-one-32542294
  17. Sat in the office and I've seen so many buses go past the window with Jordan's face on the side of it, ha.
  18. I think Chris, an exec, will know what he's doing. It'll take a bit of time for things to settle. If they take two or three in 10 listeners from Radio 1 it'll have paid off, I think.
  19. They just wanted a very big song and dance - and it seems they certainly had it with Jordan doing Greatest Showman. Hard to argue with him for taking the job given the resource they've put into the launch! But agree, will be interested to see how it develops over the coming weeks.
  20. Shows how little I listened! There's a lot of music, as per usual, but evidently that's Capital style. It's certainly an easy listen. Jordan confusing Skepsis and sepsis Not sure how many of those we'll get - he seems to have a much more professional stance here. One thing is clear there's a lot of choice for Radio 1 listeners of a certain age if they did want something different. I could happily listen to Moyles or Jordan, Global's offering has certainly improved.
  21. It's more engaging than I imagined Capital breakfast to be. Like others said, I haven't heard Roman much to compare it. It sounds like Sian and Chris have more leadership on air.
  22. Poor Greg. I have to admit I didn't think twice about the video, which suggests I have some learning to do too. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-68735023
  23. Interesting how close the schools are and the logistical challenges that poses. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-68714874
