I agree on this too. I'm not a fan of the shortening and mixing of songs. When Greatest Hits first started 10-1, the songs were played in full. Radio 1 aren't fully against playing older tracks from the mid 90's and earlier, especially where dance music is concerned. The likes of Spice Girls and Oasis seem to get a regular look in on features like 10 minute takeover etc. Goes without saying that younger people like older tracks, but as CHR station, it'd be quite jarring if they went back further more often. Still, better than Capital who go back 5-6 years at most if they chuck in a non playlist track.
