When Radio 1’s Big Weekend hits Derry~Londonderry later this month, it’s sure to be the place to be to see the biggest acts around. Over the course of the Spring Bank Holiday (24-26 May), stars such as Biffy Clyro, Calvin Harris and Bruno Mars will headline the ever popular free event.
The event kicks off on Friday with the main emphasis being on 1Xtra and dance music with the likes of Radio 1 DJ royalty Pete Tong, Zane Lowe and Dance Anthems host, DJ Danny Howard all performing. Saturday and Sunday will see the opening of the Main Stage and In New Music We Trust Stage, with over 40 of the biggest acts taking centre stage. The full line up can be seen below:

Radio 1’s Big Weekend is always a favourite among listeners with tickets being snapped up within an hour when released on Wednesday 17th April. Sad face. But never fear! The Big Weekend can be listened to live on Radio 1, 1Xtra and will also be streamed via BBC Red Button, on mobile and online at bbc.co.uk/radio1/bigweekend. BBC Three will also broadcast highlights of the acts throughout the weekend. Phew!
