I'm starting to get into Doctor Who now - but we're so long behind you, I think.

Last time it was something with a time machine kind of chimney, and then I think he had an "affaire" with some lady from way back. I missed some of it, though and don't remember it all.

Anyway, I just have to work out the schedule of the TV channel so I know when it is on. It's a shame it's on German TV, really, but I'll be ok ;)

I'm so sad that I actually noted down Doctor Who's tel number (0770 090 0461) after it was shown several times in the last episode, thinking it was some sort of conspiracy thingy...

It isn't. I'm even more sad because I actually phoned it! Goodness what an opportunity the producers wasted there, could've made a bomb. Oh no, I forgot, it's the BBC.

Looking forward to next week though.

I can't believe they didn't do something with that! They definitely missed a trick there! They could have had a recorded Doctor Who message or something

I saw the Robert Carlisle odds too! I really don't want David Tennant to go out of it :(

I'd hate to see David Tennant leave, but it's going to happen one day obviously. I just don't think it'll happen yet, I have a feeling (I'm gonna feel like such a goon if he does go at the end of this season).

Let's face it, if DT actually is leaving at the end of the run, than RTD and team have done a wonderful job of keeping it under wraps. It would be an excellent surprise (in a sad way...if that makes any sense).

I think his severed hand has something to do with the resolution. We got a few poigniant shots of it through the episode. I'm not good with theories though, so god knows how it'll all pan out!

What about the fact that a 'faithful companion' is gonna die?

This isn't a spoiler, just our theory, but we think Rose is going to die I'm afraid.

I'd love Robert Carlyle to be Doctor Who. His performances in Cracker and Trainspotting are two of the best pieces I have ever seen. He also bought me a cup of coffee in the Grosvenor Cafe just off the Byres Road. He had a big beard at the time and was really lovely to talk to.

Will they make the Doctor Scottish this time though?

If the Osterhagen key is just a device used by RTD as reset switch to bring the time line back into order i may throw something at the tv :x. As this was how he solved the problem last season.

As long as the ending doesn't feature the phrase "Emergency Temporal Shift" I shall be happy

Wow.... lucky Rose Tyler! I wish I could have been her.

Or maybe Donna, discovering a naked Doctor in the Tardis! Anyway it was really good. Can't believe we've got to wait until Christmas though, waaaahhh. This second half of the year goes so slowly.

Just home (well an hour ago) form the Kylie Concert (which was amazing btw - but we hoped they might show Doctor Who while we waited for her to come on since she'd been in it but no such luck!) just watched tonight's episode & awww wasn't it brilliant????? I cried twice!!!

I too am v. jealous of Rose!!! I am glad her and "The Doctor" got their happily ever after in the only way I guess they ever could have but it just wasn't the same :( Brilliant episode, but it didn't leave a cliffhanger this time?

I am dying to know who his new companion will be, I thought he was gonna invite Donna's Granddad for a minute towards the end there!!

Absolutely fantastic episode! So sad when he had to leave Donna behind! She saved the universe and she'll never know :( And she was going to travel as a time lord and everything! And she'll never know The Doctor! I know deep down that it's not ACTUALLY real but it's still bad! I never liked Catherine Tate but I thought she was really good in the show. Pity she had to leave.

I guess Mickey and Martha will be in the next Torchwood then too? I'm happy Martha will be in it but I'm not too sure about Mickey. I love Torchwood though so I hope they can fit him in well!

I don't think Mickey will be in Torchwood. Not after the success Noel Clarke is having at the box office lately! But it was a great episode drama wise. Plot wise it had massive gaping holes in it that you could fit the Dalek Crucible through! But I still loved it!

Sometimes here, sometimes not.

But I still loved it!

It was the naked Doctor that did it for you, wasn't it? :P

Martha was in the last series of Torchwood so I think she'll become a permanent team member but I'm not sure about Mickey, I have seen Noel Clarke in the newspapers twice already this weekend as a 'hotly tipped' actor/writer so I don't think he'll be in Doctor Who/Torchwood very often, he might make the occasional appearence.

I was also more impressed with Catherine Tate's performance than I thought I would be. I thought he might take her grandad to counter any accusations of ageism/sexism his tendancy to have young female companions might provoke, but apparently not.

Haha, If only Sir Alan had an EXTERMINATE button.

Ooooops, I've forgotten to write about how much I enjoyed the Doctor Who finale this weekend. Both the script and the acting were superb.

It was lovely to see all the characters reunited, shame they couldn't have persuaded Tom Baker to turn up too.

It was a bittersweet episode - it was so sad that Donna lost her memories and all the recognition she deserved, and I also felt slightly uneasy that Rose wasn't quite as keen on her new Doctor as she was on the original version.

It made me laugh and cry. Great telly. I'm gonna miss it.

    • Annie did the Friday night dance show as well so I think that made her more prominent. She's an excellent presenter at new music and I think Jack is the perfect successor for this show. Clara was always in the 'good' category for me. She's been around since I started listening to R1 so feels a bit weird she's leaving. Think it's only Greg, Matt, Danny Howard and Pete Tong left now!
    • See I don’t agree…I think the three way dynamic is not really working. Vick & Katie are really great together and I enjoy Vick & Jamie together. It’s something between Katie & Jamie that’s not gelling for me. However it’s early days and they are still much better than some other combos. Plus Matt & Jamie were radio comedy gold for me so I don’t think Jamie’s the problem. Just maybe didn’t need to be a three.
    • HAppy birthday Scott mills I hope u like the photo sent to you and I hope u recived my massive birthday CARD as I sent it to BBC RADIO 2 broadcasting house on special recorded delivery for you as let me if u have got it as I wrote a very large letter to you inside the card and sent a photo inside the card as well your biggest fan Yolanda xxxx LOVE 💖 YOU MILLIONS SCOTT  MILLS
    • It's rather sad that Pink News is even running this - they should know better.
    • I was invested in the show when it was Vick and Jordan / Katie - now I don't pay attention and might leave the station when Jordan starts on Capital.  What I do hear is a mix of formulaic and awful.   It's strange how one person leaving a station can affect your outlook on the whole station.
    • Happy birthday Scott! Hurry up and get back on the airwaves 😊
    • Think it just depends on his commitments but agree he's a good listen.
    • I liked her last show, but I don’t feel it had the same impact as Annie’s show. Also, I feel her tenure was quite short to be honest, so don’t understand what the sentiments are all about. I mean Annie did this show for 6 years and Zane Lowe for 12, compared to Clara’s 3 years. Looking forward to Jack taking over from her - I think he has a lot of influence from Zane Lowe and we need that energy in 6pm slot.
    • I wonder if R1 will do a big event type thing on the week that Jordan starts on Capital? It will minimise the number of people turning over I’d guess
    • Hard to believe that all the new shows from September 2021 are now pretty much over, aside from RMC on the live lounge show, and even then, they seemed to change things up after 18 months or so. It feels like yesterday since 6th September 2021 when all those new shows began!
    • I've never listened to Rylan before this week but have found him to be excellent.  He should be Scott's main cover going forwards
    • Always thought Arielle would get this show. She's the most natural presenter to Annie Mac. Maybe it was something to do with her Dj career and residencies in Ibiza
    • Sad that she said she felt different to others at Radio 1 having come from 1Xtra. Lovely how supportive Greg was through her career.
    • To be honest she never filled Annie’s shoes in my eyes. It’s been a disappointing tenure having not been able to grow her show. It’s a stark contrast from her mid morning show where I preferred her to RMC.
    • Yesterday when Katie was off was nearly unlistenable. Shows how vital she is in the show dynamic.
