My perspective when saying ‘alienating’ was from a listener , a new listener to a new music show where every track is unfamiliar can be alienating. When I used to run a music blog website and took my eye off the ball it could be hard to get finger back on pulse. I remember first listening to after 7pm on radio 1 and it feeling like a different world of music completely as a teenager- I think this format knocks them barriers down and makes a smooth transition from daytime playlists to new music show taking listener deeper down as show progresses yeah you are bang on with setting the agenda - what a great influential role to have

Jack has smashed it He was born for this show, he said he’d been dreaming of it and you could tell. Such passion and energy as always with Jack but in a show that can grab people’s attention and drag them down the rabbit hole of new music if you had a keen interest in discovering new music but haven’t in a while, new music shows can be alienating with no familiarity until you ‘get into it’ - the new show has ensured you can ease into to get back into sync . i love the Zane influences - he will be the forefront of where every emerging and returning artist wants to be with this show . Very excited for this chapter

The music is great , I’d only wish they’d mix the music up more , the playlist is too small and therefore same songs on too often - benson Boone has been on twice in the show today

If it was - Happens a lot alot of Scott and Chris stuff was built with end in mind of big final idea where they wanted to take it and working backwards to lead up to it. Greggs was already sponsoring a competition this week so if it was an “on the fly” add on it would have just been a few bottles of mustard and some next day signage printed out to add onto their trucks and advert space. Global own a lot of advert spaces billboards too so easy for them to do

I’ve loved the new show this week, can really hear how original capital listeners and original radio 1 fans have been brought together and united in this perfect start to the day show. So fun and a great listen What were the stress dreams before starting the new show? Did it ever cross your mind Jordan and Chris you would be working together again after been together when you covered scott? And how’s the reunion been most surreal moment so far?

This is so overdue, although almost to the point where the limbo listeners between radio one and two may already have been lost to commercial I think they could do with a brand new naming and brand approach across the whole radio estate opposed to extension names. Interesting discussion - Like a fantasy schedule - if you had to rename the full bbc radio estate including these new proposals - how would you approach it?

I can only think the reason this hasn’t been announced with others in the shake up is because it’s somebody new who announcing early would be a conflict on interest as they are on other stations James would fit this bill as he seems to do cover for global and radio 1 at the minute with no permanent show as of yet I can see the swap with Sam and danni however as ash said

Vick still has a lot of work outside radio where she may need cover, same for Jamie. makes sense to make Katie a permanent fixture so the show has its intended presenters most of the time, she will be great loved hearing her pair with Jordan and vick

The More I think about it the more I think it’s possible Roman could return to radio for a less demanding role than breakfast which could work alongside his one show commitments and other work it seems him and vick have busy schedules, be a great move by bbc to get him on board Radio1’s maybe presenting a Friday afternoon show with vick - what a switch that would be

I can’t see it been so late When sonny left it was almost instant i think we can expect an announcement Monday morning with Jordan been brought into the studio and perhaps romans last week Reading between the lines on global marketing of the show from capital breakfast with Roman Kemp to “with Roman , Chris and Sian “ was a subtle hint to less focus on all been about Roman when a bbc show changes it gets a whole new feel, capital seem to like a gradual approach to keep listeners already established global seems a more long term plan for presenters now, nothing to say he couldn’t go to radio x in a few years to succeed moyles after the capital breakfast gig Ironic that commercial radio was just a few years ago awash with celebs without a radio career crowbarred into one, now it seems a little of the opposite

Be great to hear that again . I liked the when Annie met nick interview they did for radio one vintage too a true legend and inspiration- always looking to future of music if anyone has that link of the moyles show would be great to hear again

Maybe drive when Jordan and Katie take over? I don’t think vick will go back to breakfast

I’d not be upset if it were to close, it’s hard to keep up or find topics discussed in there after they’ve been posted a while. Thanks for all you do Jono keeping this website alive and us radio nerds a place

I know it’s not radio one but I can see Roman leaving capital breakfast and someone else joining Sian and chris stark rumoured last year and subtle changing to the branding of the breakfast show to “capital breakfast with Roman Chris and Sian” opposed to the previous “with Roman kemp” make it sound like they are pushing the continuity of Chris and Sian . Global never like big schedule shakeups

I get the feeling he’s been offered the ‘if ever you want a job ‘ line and with Scott going has used this chance to call back and go , yeah actually

I’m sure last time a large amount of donations were coming after it was completed . I hope they beat the last result! It’s been great and they’ve put so much into it

Can’t see Scott going anywhere in a hurry. Maybe in couple of years when schedule has stabilised and R1’s have more upcoming talent could see him and Chris going to weekends before touching r2 but right now there’s no reason to concider him for R2 , he’s still top of his game on R1’s and the only reason anyone could suggest R2 is because of age but that’s hatdly relevant when the content he puts out is relevant to target audience

Game of Phones was also a feature of Saturday night takeaway but since that’s going to be off for a year I’m sure Ant and Decs version will be forgotten about by time they are back

I think every presenter is allowed ‘their thing’ Greg - geeky stuff Dev - his unique self deprecating sense of humour And for Grimmy - it’s showbiz - that’s his thing it got him the breakfast gig and he was friends with the stars that had a lot of influence in the show bringing entertainment news and almost co host seems right it’s the right ingredients for him to thrive. I genuinely think Nick has a lot more energy in this show from what we’ve heard so far, it sounds like he actually wants to be here which is more than the last year of breakfast. He’s involving callers and their stories and looking for input with a format. Personally I wasn’t thinking it would be much but actually really enjoying Grimmy in this new slot, an excellent swap for him and Greg - both in their right places

Listen to Greg’s first show and Grimmys last you can definitely hear their strong music tastes throughout. A lot less rap and rnb this morning

Strange. You’d of thought greg would have got the all clear to put that up with all the imaging rather than changing it. Sounded good though. hopefully recrecording the voiceover guy roll on Monday!

New imaging sounds great, very Greg. a niggle that’s going to grow - i can’t buy the way the guy says ‘breakfast’ through his teeth (9seconds in the podcast) now ive pointed that out i can’t unhear it and it’s goinng to get irritate me each day

Yeah I think it’s more of a steer and nod towards Scott’s shows of recent years, sorting listener problems, involvement with their stories and development of listeners to regular show characters such as James the pi and good news Jamie. the days of Moyles full on zoo format are long gone. Thinking back to listening to Moyles growing up and it was abit strange that radio1 - breakfast show aimed at young people who love music had musicless Moyles on for so long. I loved the show and love Moyles but totally get why they’ll never go back to that

I can imagine older features making come back or current any features wanting to be carried over, been rested over summer so it doesn’t feel like a straight copy and paste show from drive to breakfast therell be fresh ideas too no doubt but I wouldn’t be surprised if we lose Greg for a couple of weeks at least ‘holiday’ , before the breakfast show launches to give them prep time
