Scott to take part in The Red Nose Desert Trek

As we reported earlier last month, Scott Mills will be at the forefront of this year’s Comic Relief activity, as he takes part in a 100km trek across the Kenyan desert.

He will take part in the gruelling challenge along with eight other celebrities including Olly MursKara TointonDermot O’Leary, and Lorraine Kelly in two weeks’ time.

For five days the group will be hoping to avoid the world’s deadliest snakes – as well as combating temperatures of up to 38C – so there’ll be no need for Scott to get a fake tan when he returns!

The aim of the challenge is to raise awareness and money of blindness in Africa.

Other stars taking part in the trek include Nadia SawalhaRonni Ancona, Radio 4’s Peter White and Craig David.

A documentary will air on BBC1 on 18th March, and you can find more about how to donate to the cause at www.rednoseday.com/trek.

Sara Cox will present BBC Radio 1’s afternoon show while Scott is away.
